I have several cameras: zmodo, ring and wyze. This camera is better than all of them. Great picture and options.
This camera is very well built and most importantly, the mount. The mount is very secure and feels beefy. Once tightened, this camera doesn't move unlike the others i have.
This camera integrates with Alexa and is easy to setup. As usual, create an account and link it.
Multiple resolutions to choose from. You can choose from 1280x720 (720) all the way up to 2688x1520 (4mp).
This camera offers cloud storage with motion detection. It allows you to the motion detection area.
For the price this camera hands down is worth the price.
Please understand before you buy, this camera needs a Poe switch to be powered up. As cheap as these are this is no a deal breaker. Amazon has plenty nicely priced poe switches to choose from.
Let me also add, this is a well built camera and mount. Bigger than I thought but not huge.

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT FOR ME

I didn't know anything about purchasing or installing a camera like this but I knew I wanted a hardwired camera so I would not have to mess with recharging or batteries. I researched cameras on Amazon and YouTube and learned about a PoE camera (power over ethernet). It was so easy to install with just running a coax cable ( used cat 6) from the camera to an additional item I needed, a PoE switch that I purchased on Amazon and a short coax cable to go from the switch to my router. That's it. I also purchased a 256gb SD card for continuous recording.
I used the Amcrest Pro View software on my iphone and tablet and the Amcrest Surveillance on my desktop (both versions are free). In hindsight it was super easy to install but at the time it was a learning experience. I probably spent two hours installing the camera and hooking it up and another 3-4 hours getting to know the software. The Amcrest quick start guide and the website both contain a lot of information.
The wide angle lens is a huge plus in my situation, I would not have been happy with just a narrow view. Running the higher resolution gives a fantastic view. Using the SD card for recording means I don't need a cloud service but I can still view the camera remotely.
Overall I could not be happier with the camera and would recommend it for easy installation and great view.

With all wireless options that are offered today, it is good to always have a hardwired camera; but even better if only an Ethernet Cable is needed, higher speeds, independent of interference and issues with water in the antennas.
This POE enabled camera is super easy to set up, the APPs (cloud and ViewPro) are easy to use and follow without much need of configuration, but if needed there are tons of features you can configure to have a very professional setup or just a simple home security camera system.
Even it has a great angle view, when in dark environments the images are not perfect from far, but is very good in short distance, so from the price point of view is 100% worth it. I like a lot that you can switch quality modes since not all the time you will need the higher data bandwidth consumption of an HD video. What I would love to have from Amcrest is to have an app compatible with Fire TV, that way you can have a full view of your cameras not only on the computer or smartphone but on your TV as well. Attached 2 pictures of the camera view.
NOTE: I'm using the POE Switch from Amcrest and as well super simple to use, I will need to dig more into it, since I want to try the length of all 4 ports used with cameras at the same time, expecting to be able to run up to 100ft each.

The price and quality of this camera makes it a good deal compared to more expensive brands. You are going to get a higher resolution for a better price. The setup of this camera is straight forward: Plug it in, run the app to find the camera, add in to the app, and view. You can hook this up to a NVR or just a regular switch to view Live Video.
The App for mobile devices is practically the same you will see across other brands, but seems a bit better, is easy to use, and setup. Follow the instructions Amcrest provides with the camera and
Setup took no more than 30 mins to have live viewing on your phone and/or Computer. I tested the Power-over-Ethernet (POE) and the Power directly to the camera if your switch doesn’t have POE, both worked great.
I have the Camera hooked up to a Network Video Recorder (not Amcrest brand) and it works great, which is a big plus if you are looking at switching brands. Great to see that Amcrest is ONIVF compliant.
Only Con is the IR light is not the best for a large outdoor areas at night, if you are trying to illuminate a large area in dark hours try to find a model with more than 98ft IR Distance. Amcrest has models with 131 ft. and 164 ft. IR distances
Pros: Price, image quality, ease of setup, ONIVF, need to buy Ethernet cable
Cons: IR isn’t the best, Amcrest watermark on video.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Camera with Excellent Picture
Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I have set up over 20 Amcrest installations, and about 10 installations of other types. I prefer the Amcrest for picture quality, build, and durability. I have included some pictures taken with the UltraHD 5MP Outdoor POE Camera 2592 x 1944p during both day and night, in an environment that showcases the camera's quality. Both the day and night footage is exceptional.
These camera support native POE, with the ability to get power using a wall-wart. They include necessary hardware to water-protect the cat5 cable. The Camera case and base are made of cast metal, and has a single Allen bolt that allows easy positioning of the camera. Once the bolt is tightened, the camera will not move, even in 40mph winds. (no vibration) The NIGHT Floodlight does not have a red glow, like my older "Vandal Proof" Amcrest; so it is invisible at night unless you know where to look. The lens and the light share a common optic, but the lens is against the glass which removes ghosting caused by internal reflection. Also, the wavelength of this light does not seem to attract insects. As the picture shows, the Night vision almost looks like far infra-red. Both pictures were taken from a screenshot of the video, night time, was taken in the rain.
The Crispness of the video shows a solid 25fps to my NVR, and it also supports backup recording on the camera itself. This camera does not need the special Amcrest plugin to access making it much nicer then their older offerings.
Motion Detection is also pretty standard, it is very sensitive which can be a pain in the butt, but if you are utilizing a NVR, you can set up zones, and adjust your own sensitivity. The camera may also have a way to set up zones, I did not check.
Amcrest provides an app which allows you to view your camera on Android and Iphone at no extra cost. You will need to poke a hole through your firewall unless you use their cloud service. (Which I do not)
I will be purchasing more of these cameras in the future as I believe their price and performance is unparalleled.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great no-frills IP Camera
Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
This camera may not have all the bells and whistles, but it is quite good at reliably capturing video. It includes all of the features you need, without paying for the features you don't want. The camera is well built, has good image quality, and probably has the best night vision of any camera on my system. I would have appreciated better documentation, as I didn't find the default login credentials for the web portal (admin/admin) or the RTSP address (rtsp://[username]:password@IPaddress:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0). Amcrest's email support is quite good, so I think that makes up for the poor documentation.
Pros:
Good video quality
Brilliant night vision (50+ feet)
Solid construction (metal)
Definitely water and dust proof
Accepts 12vdc or POE power
Amcrest support is helpful and responsive
Cons:
No audio
No WiFi (ethernet is way more reliable and secure, anyway)
No integrated PIR sensor
Overall, I am happy with this purchase. I expect this camera will record constantly for many years without issues.

This camera works very well. Easy install. Hardest part is running Ethernet cable. It is powered through POE. Camera has great quality. Highly suggest setting up settings through logging into the cameras web interface or through the NVR. Do not set up motion through the app as it does not give you enough options. Also do not accidentally save motion options through the app if they are set else where as the app with override your motion settings. That is my biggest complaint but that really doesn’t have to with the camera itself. Overall the camera is high quality and durable. Highly recommend it along with an NVR.
**UPDATE 11/2021**
This camera is still working great. I have seen a review that says these don’t function in the cold. That is not true, I live in the northern US where I get plenty of snow and negative degree weather.
I just bought another camera and have been using it. These have great night vision and I have no issues with the cameras.

5.0 out of 5 stars Upgraded from a collection of random SV3C cameras

After my last (of 4) SV3C cameras started to finally experience packet loss to my iSpy server, I figured it was time to scrap them all and go with something new. This was my selection, so I bought 4 of them. 1 came with a defective IR light (quickly replaced by Amazon), but otherwise all worked perfectly out of the box. Overall, there's literally nothing that the SV3C collection of various models did better than these. That said, the night vision on these is so outstanding, you may not even have a need for the IR light, depending on your application. I was completely blown away by the non-IR performance on nightfall. Firmware updates? No problem finding the latest firmware on their website. Installation in iSpy Connect Agent DVR (running on Windows) was a breeze using ONVIF. Having managed my own system (installation, tuning, compute, storage, etc.) for a good 5 years now, I can say that these cameras fit the bill perfectly. Will update if things go south.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Impressed

I am very impressed with this camera, especially for the price. I use it with iSPY and am able to get a crystal clear image. IF maxed out at 2592 x 1944p, the cameras will get 10-15 fps in iSPY. I dropped it to 1800x1200, which is still very clear and the camera gets 20-30 fps with no frame drops. I paired this with a 10$ 50ft cat5 cable and a POE injector - ran the cable through the wall and plugged it in. Connect the camera with an ethernet cord from the camera to the POE injector, then run a short cable from the POE injector to your modem / switch. Boom - now the camera is on your network and is easily searchable in 3rd party programs (like iSpy) to add the camera. For $45, this is a steal - granted because I already had the POE injector and cables. You can get a POE injector for 10$ anyway so its not bad. I will definitely be buying two more to replace the icamera2-c's that were left here by comcast.
The camera doesnt have a microphone and no two way speaker, but that is fine as they werent needed for what I wanted - and I didnt expect the camera to have these features at the price point. All around great purchase

I ordered this camera to try out the brand. I have several of the ring cameras but when they record, there is a time limit to the length of recording....like two minutes or something.....then there is a several second gap before they start recording again. We noticed this when we were trying to review something that happened. We're going to install an NVR and use cameras from now on. This camera set up very easy. It was easy to access. Easy to log in and change settings to a static IP address. Easy to stream RTSP from. I am happy with this camera. I plan on using this one to make a fake "window" for my father in law. If he doesn't feel like getting out of bed, he can stream what is happening out front to the TV in his bedroom. For our home security I plan on using the 4K cameras from Amcrest.

Overall I have been impressed with this camera. I had Arlo cameras around the house and the battery would die in a matter to days, so switching to a camera system that had power from the home using POE was a priority on my replacement cameras.
I had switched from Arlo doorbell camera to the Amcrest doorbell camera a while back and figured I’d give them a shot for exterior cameras.
Night vision mode works very well and has a great quality even in low light.
The quality in daylight is pretty superb as well compared to the 720p Arlo cams I had.
Additionally I do like their app and UI though it could use some work, but it can tie in with the doorbell cam nicely so it works.
Definitely give them a shot if you’re looking for a good camera.

I wanted to have a cheaper camera that worked with my DVR... I am still checking this one out but it does work when it is cabled directly to the DVR. I have not been able to get the network connection to the DVR to work yet... But I am substituting it for the lorex that are directly connected and using the lorex camera to connect remotely via the home network.
An update...I have found that the Amcrest cameras work very well with my lorex N861 DVR... I have one camera that uses a Trendnet remote unit to connect to the router. That is the only camera connection so far that I have not been able to substiute an Amcrest for Lorex camera... I like the wider range vs distance on the Amcrest for short viewing areas. This is a cheaper means to fill out my camera positions.

This unit was priced similarly to other cams I had previously purchased, it seems to be very well built. The feature I like most is the one were you can actually disable the IR lamps (for night view), with other cams I had to cover up the lamps. For me I have found that the IR light attracts some flying bugs and as a result spiders build a web across part of the lens, I like to mount a separate IR light a few feet from the cam it cuts down on the spider webs across the lens. I like the GUI as compared to other cams I had purchased and was able to access it from different web browsers were as the other cams GUI needed you to use the older version of internet explorer to fully function. I am very pleased with this device so far and will see if it has endurance also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bullet Camera
Reviewed in the United States on May 11, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
This camera is very solidly built. It was much heavier than I expected in a good way. Really appreciate the SD door. I did utilize the SD slot with a 64GB card. While I was fortunate to be installing the card pre camera install, I really do appreciate the screws with preventing fallout backing and the lanyard attached to the SD/Reset button access. There have been several times where I would need to make a change after the camera was installed and losing a screw or a cover would be horrific. With this foresight though, it is not a concern I have.
While I do prefer turrets to bullets, the area I wanted to cover, this made more sense. Connecting to the camera once on the network was very quick and simple. Adjustments like IP, time, etc. were simple and easy to find. After getting its new IP, formatting the SD card and all other adjustments I brought it into my Blue Iris. This too was rather quick and displayed almost instantly. I also utilized the sub stream for my motion and the main stream for recording.
The image was amazing and the night vision made the view very clear. Compared to my other Amcrest cameras (IP5M-T1179EW-28MM) this gave me an equally great image.
Overall, I really like this camera and it has a permanent spot outside unless the spiders get too interested, then it will move indoors.
Things I really liked:
Video quality Night vision (No supplemental needed)
Solid construction
POE
SD/reset button Door
Access to the camera directly works well through Chrome and Firefox. No need for IE, plugins, etc.
GUI was very user friendly
Things I wish were a bit different:
More available sun-shield adjustment

I have a 8+ cam system set up that I use religiously as a residential consumer. At sub $50, this camera cannot be beat. The 5MP is an enormous step up from anything 2MP/1080p. Night vision is also fantastic. Easily added to iSpy (I don't know about blue iris, but they have detailed documentation for it). Web based viewing 'portal' is also perfectly adequate. I cannot say anything about the camera's motion detection, since that is handled by iSpy. I have multiple cameras from a four letter company that sells on amazon and begins with Z. This amcrest camera is far, far superior, both in image quality and configuring in general. I plan on buying more to replace my existing non-amcrest ones and relegate the others to less important areas. Top notch, very satisfied.

This is a great camera. It surprisingly has a heavy metal shell (not plastic). I put it on my bird feeder for testing. The picture is incredible, the colors are beautiful and it captures an incredible amount of detail. The camera keeps producing amazing color and detail in far less light that I expected was possible. I could not tell from the video how dark it actually was. Once it switches to night-vision (B/W) there is incredible detail.
The motion detection is great, but my NVR arrived before I got it dialed-in so it picked up a lot of tree movement.
I mounted it on a pine tree and the recent heavy rain has not bothered it at all. mounting was very easy and wiring couldn't be easier (POE for the win).
My one complaint was that there was not a cover for the unused 12v connector.
This is a great camera. I will be ordering more of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars more than enough for me, firmware outstanding
Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
The picture quality is more than enough for me, and I even turn the resolution down a little to have more time stored on my nvr, but these cameras produce clear video at high or low settings. This camera definitely has a starlight image sensor as it continues to show perfectly clear color video until its completely dark outside. The nightmode (black and white with IR lights) is good but as this only has 2 IR lights it will probably only sufficiently illuminate 20-30 feet at night.
The firmware for this is outstanding as well. It has HTML5 video playback when you access the camera directly through an internet browser (no plugin or flash is required). It has all the necessary settings that I was able to get the camera to communicate and work great with an outdated Grandstream NVR. So in other words it is very customizable and follows the onvif standards close enough to play well with other equipment.
Amcrest is an American company but these cameras are made by companies in China that often are closely tied to the Chinese government. So I would advise using a firewall to prevent the cameras from accessing the internet. And use an NVR or NVR software like blue iris to view the video from cameras. Amcrest only releases a couple of firmwares per model which makes me believe that they spend a lot of time making sure their firmwares are stable and checking for any holes before distributing them. I don’t see the lack of firmware as an issue because their firmware are very stable and aren’t lacking any features.
I cant speak to the long term quality which is often a problem with cheaper cameras, but in terms of hardware and features this will be the only camera I buy going forward.

I purchased this to upgrade from an old analog Amcrest system which still works great, just looking for a little better quality. Being that this camera is all digital there is no interference and the quality is good enough that we can easily read license plates on cars in front of our home. I've used Amcrest products for several years and have been very happy, especially with as little as we spent on them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great viewing angle and night vision
Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I got this camera to replace a 4MP Reolink camera that looks out over my driveway (Reolink RLC-410-4MP). I live in a rural area, and my driveway's 300ft long, so it needs to cover a lot.
While the increase from 4MP to 5MP seems minor, the biggest upgrade comes from 2 features that aren't that obvious at first:
* The viewing angle. This camera has 103° horizontal and 71° vertical. That's a HUGE difference compared to the 80° by 42° that my previous camera had.
* Night vision. Both cameras claim 30m IR distance, but the night picture on this Amcrest is MUCH clearer than the Reolink. I don't know if it's a better chip or better processing, but it's significant.
The only (minor) downside is that this camera doesn't have a microphone.
As for installation & setup: no issues at all. I was also happy to discover I didn't need to drill new holes, as both cameras use 3 screws in the exact same locations.
4.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: Best Bang for Your Buck
Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
UPDATE2: I have upgraded my review to 4 stars based on having them in operation for a month. I am thus far very happy with the performance of these cameras, the image width, depth of field and clarity earn high marks for a reasonably priced camera. After I discovered how to manipulate the mount so I can point the camera where I wanted things went smoothly. Originally I thought the lens hood was too short but it seems to work well enough although I still think they should lengthen the adjustment another half inch. My install was very detailed and time consuming because I wanted to make this clean and maintenance free, I used quality solid copper cabling and PoE switch, made sure there was no exposed wires and am testing out open source NVR software to complete the setup. Amcrest has a good tool for installing or configuring the cameras (Amcrest IPconfig) but I would like to see them update their surveillance software and include various methods for configuring access via the web in addition to any of the paid subscriptions model they might have or come up with. In short this project has been fun, I still have 2 more cameras to install but am sure that will go just as smooth as the others, just be sure to use good wire and PoE switch. I posted a pic to show how it looks installed, they arent obvious at first glance, it took my neighbor a while to notice they were there and they werent too pleased which was the cherry on the cake for me.
UPDATE: Prior to returning these I sat down and gave these a good looking over to see if I could use them as planned. Well after a little investigation I found that if you do the following you can gain greater flexibility on camera positioning.
1. Remove the set screw from the white sleeve (attaches base to camera ball) be sure to hold the camera head as it will get real loose
2. Slide the white sleeve towards the camera, you will need to manipulate the camera so that the sleeve has max extension
3. Once you have done that you will notice the base rotates (you may hear or feel clicking)
4. Adjust base to the required position then slide sleeve back to original position and insert set screw
5. The sleeve has a rubber gasket which you may or may not see depending on amount of travel of the sleeve, just make sure when putting back together the gasket is in place
6. Now install camera and make your final adjustments and tighten set screw
I bumped the rating up 1 star because I feel so far that the camera appears well made but the lack of instruction on how to fine tune positioning is not documented (or that I could find) and was a cause of frustration and wasted time looking for alternatives.
First the bad:
1. Unless you are planning on putting this camera dead square on your target area dont expect any level of adjustment other than up and down (maybe). If you are planning placement at a location off center from your monitoring area the ball mount DOES NOT allow for horizontal and vertical alignment to center up your viewing area so you will have blind spots.
2. If you have to manipulate the orientation to get the correct adjustment you run the risk of having the cable chase within the ball joint pointing up which would allow for rain and snow to collect and make its way into the unit or mounting box.
3. The cutout in the base to accommodate the cable also limits the position in which this can be placed. Again if you align the slot in any position other than down you will most certainly get water and snow into your camera or junction box.
4. The sun shield is way to shallow, its next to useless.
5. These do not connect at gigabit speeds which means each port on my costly GB switch which these would connect would be a waste of resources. I suspect part of the video lag is a result of slow line speed.
The good:
1. If you are one of the few who are lucky enough to be able to place the unit dead center on to your target area without adjustment consider yourself fortunate.
2. The units are heavy and constructed of metal and SEEM to be made well.
3. I only powered up one camera before realizing the poor design quality noted above but the picture seemed clear BUT with a noticeable lag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good value but some glitches
Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
On the plus side:
1) Very good image quality, good night vision and range of view
2) Inexpensive
3) Responsive tech support
On the negative side:
1) After adding this model to two other Amcrest cameras already in use (one an identical 5 MP, the other an 8 MP), I found that the third camera kept dropping off my network every few days. Unplugging the POE cord and plugging it back in would get the camera back on line, but it would eventually drop off again. Eventually I replaced it with another manufacturer's 5 MP camera, which has worked fine.
2) Motion detection is WAY oversensitive, significantly more so than any other brand of camera I've used. This model comes with a default setting of 60 on a scale of 0-100. I figured that would be too sensitive so I reset it to 30 and got a ton of false alarms. I kept dialing it down, eventually to 1, but still got a slew of false alarms. I blotted out a lot of the field of view using the region setting tool, but there were still too many false alarms.
3) The Amcrest View Pro app has a lot of features and is relatively easy to use, but is glitchy in some respects. You can assign a name to each Amcrest camera, but with more than 2 cameras on the network the app would frequently assign the same name to two different cameras. When trying to exit the app you get a box asking you to tap OK if you really want to leave and Cancel if not - but neither allows you to exit (had to use the home button on my phone to do so).
Overall it's a nice camera with limitations, deserving of 3.5 stars (which rounds to 4).

These camera's are AWESOME. I bought two to monitor my yard because the new neighbors' kids are always sitting on my stuff. The cameras worked perfectly out of the box and I couldn't find a single thing to complain about during testing.
Warning, the next paragraph is very technical, if you want to see what I didn't like go to the last paragraph.
I am very weary of what IoT devices make it onto my network. I wanted to use these cameras because they were so cheap, but I did not plan on ever accessing them from Amcrest's cloud service. I prefer to have them only accessible from inside of my private network. To accomplish this, I am using an open source DVR software which connects to the camera's feeds to be viewed there. I set the network up in so that THE ONLY way to get to those computers is by going through the server that runs the DVR software. Even from my admin machine (which has access to everything in my network), I cannot directly access the cameras without going through the server.
There was one thing I didn't like, and one thing I wish they'd do better. The almost dealbreaker came with the mount, and I found two issues with it. The only adjustments it has are up and down. You can't pan it to the left or right unless you spin the mount around. If you do that, then you can pan left and right but not up and down. Suffice to say that it took a lot more work to aim these than it should have. The second issue is that it did not come with anywhere to hide the wires. It has a little rinky-dink plastic case to cover either the CatX wire you ran to the camera, or the power/coax cable. It does the job, but depending on where you mount your camera, someone could just walk up to it and unplug it. I resolved this by putting the wire behind U-Guard and putting the connectors in an outdoor electrical junction box mounted next to the camera. I didn't like that either so I put the entire wire and connector behind the U guard. As long as their wire connector protector is water tight, I think it'll be fine. Only time will tell on that front.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crisp Clear Image
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I got this camera for my use in the driveway so I could monitor people coming and going from our home based office. I also wanted to keep an eye on customer cars parking where they shouldn't. I was expecting the image to be similar to my other PTZ cameras. So, I was very pleasantly surprised when I found that not only was the image super clear, but I could zoom in (digitally) using the Amcrest Surveillance Pro software to about 300 feet away, and still recognize who people were.
Because the camera uses the POE connection I did not have to run power supply wires along with old coax cable to the cameras. I simply hooked the camera to my Network switch with POE power, and not only did it send the power to the camera, but it delivered the video to my NVR recorder over the secure network. This means no cables run al over the house / office and no worrying about how I was going to route a cable across and down calls and ceilings. Another great thing about the POE system is that I don't have to worry about people outside of my private network hacking into WiFi Camera signals.
The chassis of this camera is even more sturdy than I expected. From looking at the camera on the internet I just assumed the body would be all plastic. I was happy to see that there's some weight to the camera, and it felt like a solid build.
Another advantage to this camera is the ball swivel mount bracket. The camera can be moved Up, Down, left and right or even rotated as necessary because the ball mount gives it a full 360 degree of movement. My other PTZ cameras and wifi fixed cameras can't do that.
The only negatives about this camera would be, 1 - it doesn't have a microphone. I would have liked to been able to listen to the sounds around the camera and 2 - the sun shade hood on the top of the camera could stand to be a little longer, or move forward just slightly more. This way it could block a little bit more of the long sun sets during summer time. However, this is easily fixed with a little adjustment in placement.
If you have a network and you want an excellent quality camera with a great picture, I would recommend this one for sure.

I would definitely recommend this product. Setup was super easy with just plug it in and follow the instructions in the app. The night vision sucks but the day time is great. The web interface is also great! I have att fiber so I just logged into the router and got the IP address for the camera and entered that in my browser. This does require a switch with PoE (power over ethernet) ports, which I already had. It does not use wireless as it gets it power from the network cable that's connected to the switch. I really like that you can have both the web interface and the app on the phone. On the web interface, you can even have it send emails of the activity, which I have enabled. To use this feature, one would click on setup, then network, then smtp. The login information would be your email carrier setting. Once entered, select Test, and if it's successful, you will get an email. It took me 5 tries because for AT&T, you have to use the passcode to your email account instead of the password. I have the app on both my android phone and my iPad. I don't use the speaker because I don't have it installed outside and it's sitting on the table at the front door. It's also extremely heavy. I'm not sure how the siding would hold up to the weight of this camera. The images are, in order, night time, day time, and the web interface. I hope all this helps!

I have a few of the Amcrest 4MP Cameras (IP4M-1026E) that have awful coloring and poor switching between day/night modes in morning and at night. I decided to give this new 5MP (IP5M-B1186E) to replace a failed cheap SV3C camera and surprised at how nice the video is during both night and daytime capture. I am using these with an Amcrest (NV4108E-HS) 8CH POE NVR and were fast to get up, configured and running.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Camera, Quality Build, Could use some improvements

Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I own a couple of Amcrest Dome Style cameras and wanted to give the bullet cam a try since it has a sunshade on top that I thought would work well on my sunny back yard.
Overall the camera works very similar to the Dome cameras I have, the Firmware though is much improved I think. It's quicker, more consistent and worked great for setup., The picture quality is better than expected and I'm more than happy with it, I thought about going 4k but really didn't need to. The build quality is much improve dover the wifi model I have as it is mostly metal now, but that does make it a little heavier and harder to mount to the soffit without a backer board.
Few complaints with the camera though:
- The Sunshade on top is worthless, the slide is not long enough to actually work as much of a light/sun shade or anything. It's more for aesthetics than anything I think.
-- I couldn't figure out how to get the base to swivel once installed, so that is why it's pointed so far at my wall. The dome cameras and the wifi camera I have are much easier to adjust after the fat.

Motion detection
Very sensitive –Motion detection is snappy and was consistent almost every time. Motion detection can be scheduled using the app which is straightforward.
Motion detection range.
Default 3- 20 to 25 feet.
Level 5 – 30 feet.
Notification from the app is instantaneous, pleasantly surprised. Did have false notification but later found out they were from bugs getting attracted to the IR light in the night.
You can set which areas you want the motion to be detected.
Night Vision.
This 5mp camera is better than the previous Amcrest and other IP cameras I use.
The pictures are sharp and detail for my backyard (Approx. up to 40-50 ft.) I have tested up to 80 ft. beyond that things get blurry.
Video Quality
Video quality is the best so far I have used, for domestic use for the price the camera is recommended. To get the most out of the camera I would suggest pairing it with Amcrest NVR. The night vision video quality is impressive however the transition period during dusk it is tricky. Once it’s completely dark the NV kicks in and the quality is amazing.
Storage
I tried both NVR and Sd card, used Samsung Evo 128gb card and never had an issue.
Software
Was able to connect it to my computer and independently using NVR to the TV, however, connecting to the Amcrest Pro App is tricky.
My Issues with the camera.
1. No mic which is the biggest downside of this camera.
2. No LED indicator to identify if the camera is switched on.
3. Motion detection too sensitive with insects triggering it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected

My review after having the camera for approximately one month:
Pros:
Features: The Amcrest UltraHD 5MP Outdoor POE Camera has a lot of features.
Resolution: The resolution is a great compromise between quality and image size.
Price: For <$65.00 USD it’s a great offering.
Night: The camera ROCKS for my nighttime test. The image is crisp!
The 5MP turret camera I received was an outdoor / indoor camera and came in white. The camera has an excellent angle for my purposes (103º). The camera has the ethernet cable caps included to make sure the unit stays water-resistant (IP67)
There are three pieces of software I recommend as well. For mobile, you should get “Amcrest View Pro” this will help you configure your camera with simple and advanced settings. You should also consider “Amcrest Cloud” mobile app if you plan to use their offsite cloud storage. Last but not least, you can also manage the camera using Windows / Mac “Amcrest Surveillance Pro”. –I chose to store my recordings via FTP
Cons:
No Power included. The camera can be powered PoE or via 12v adapter. I had tested and used both types of power. The PoE injector I have works just fine, as did the 12v power supply I also had. I would recommend PoE as it’s one less cable to have to run.
Overall, the camera is great for what you pay for. It can be simple, but because it has so many features via software, it can also get technical if you need it to. The camera can work with your own network storage, or if you choose to connect it online - offsite cloud storage.
I've included some images for comparison between normal room lighting, zoom, and night time.

Picked this up for a reasonable price. It works as advertised.
The ball joint only offers full motion down 90-degrees. Limited motion left, right or up, and the sunshade barely extends out over the front of the camera, but these are minor issues.
After a few weeks of use, I'll add some feedback. Tuning the motion detection on this camera has been a challenge.
- There seems to be no way to set different settings for day and night with this specific camera.
- It appears that the effective "sensitivity" goes down as the motion detection area is increased.
This creates a challenge because detecting motion far away (say 50-100ft) requires fairly high sensitivity. However, high sensitivity with the IR on makes the cameras very prone to triggering with bugs or rain.
Some of the night issues are inherent to the IR illumination being used. However, I think this could be somewhat improved if the two items above were better addressed.
This is still a nice choice for the price, but I'm not very happy with the ability to tune the motion detection.

The lens on the camera gives a very wide field of view; too wide for many uses/areas, but if you need a wide view, I'm not sure you will find better for the price. This is my 5th Amcrest camera and I am having no problems with any of them. If I run 3 or more in Wi-Fi at the same time, the NAS I use to record and the Wi-Fi signal gets unreliable. I bought a Netgear POE switch to power the camera and get the data and this POE camera solves all of the issues; I just need to find a way to get the data line to the camera location instead of the power line that I needed before.

I had one of the older Amcrest PoE cameras, and needed a couple more at our new place. These seem to work fine for the most part. Picture quality is decent enough, though I don’t think the optics allow a true 5MP video to be captured.
Only annoyance is that after a few days of operation, the cameras turn off, and need a hard reset to turn back on. Annoying when it happens at night, and then I don’t know how long they have not been recording. My old camera does not have this problem. Hopefully Amcrest will issue a firmware update soon to fix this.

We use cameras in our barns to monitor our sheep. We installed Reolink 4mp cameras several years ago. They work well but I was offered an Amcrest camera for testing. I mounted the Amcrest camera as close as I could to the same location as one of our Reolink cameras.
The Amcrest picture does seem to be clearer. It is a 5mp compared to our 4mp Reolink. The camera was very easy to setup and the app works very well. My only complaint is the outer edges of the picture appear distorted. It could be the location of the camera or possibly the viewing angle. We do not see the distortion with our Reolink cameras. I have attached two screen captures to show the difference.

I bought this came to use in my basement to monitor my sump and well tank area. While I didn't use the product outdoors, it seems substantially well built for outdoor operation. The camera picture is acceptable, but a tad grainy. One issue I take with the camera is that it requires a dedicated app that is different than one that my other Amcrest cam uses. It requires the app Amcrest Cloud versus Amcrest Smart Home. I really don't see the reason why it can't be used with Smart Home app. The smart home app loads faster and allows you to get to a camera feed faster. Amcrest cloud is slower to launch and takes too much time to load a camera view.
Night vision was good and clear, I was using in my basement and could see objects clearly 20FT away from it. The cam switches between night mode and day mode relatively quickly.
Like I said above, build quality is good and it's a very sturdy cam. However, I prefer to purchase cams that will allow me to use the Smart Home app in the future.

The overall of theses cameras and NVR are good. Well lets add that this NVR does not come with a reset button. It bothers me that if i need to reset the system to make it working back again, theres no other way then contacting the call center.
Hmmm. Now i needed to add 2 more cameras, and reposition 2 out of 6 cameras in a specific place to enhance range.
So all the cables need to be replaced in the back of the NVR then 3 cameras suddenly did not worked.
But i couldn't pretend this to be easy. Well i thought so!
Then, 56 minutes over the phone to solve it with Dale.S a very patient tech guy from the Amcrest support helped me out.
Easy! Piece of cake! i just needed to go al put the ladder under each and all of the 6 cameras and reset one by one in a very little tiny reset button, under the plate screwed in the bottom of the cameras to make sure everything could work again.
Thanks for the online support of Dale.S for helping me out to put it all back to work! Great support! Very patient and reliable! 5 stars support!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good camera for the price
Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
This was the first Amcrest product I had purchased/received. I have been eyeballing their cameras for my house and a couple other projects. I purchased the 5MP camera to test out at first. Out of the box, it's a pretty nice set up, especially for the price.
Pro's:
- Packed well. Everything arrived intact without an issue, no missing pieces and all documentation needed was included.
- Image quality. Daytime quality is great for the price. The camera will do all but the highest resolution at 30fps, with a limit of 20fps on the highest resolution. Though short of being able to read street names and the like at a distance, details like faces and such are pretty easy to pick out. Nighttime is far beyond what I anticipated. While not as sharp as daytime, the low light performance is stellar. The camera maintained color in a not-so-well lit area until it was literally dark out. Having the camera in an area with street lights, the camera stays in color mode & while a bit noisy, you are still able to pick out vehicle colors and body features. Black & white performance is great too, with or without the IR lights on.
- Storage. It was fairly easy to insert the micro SD card into the camera, just remove two screws and you have access to the micro SD card slot & a reset button.
- Configuration. Once you figure out what IP your camera has on the network, configuring is, for the most part a breeze. Everything is accessible from the web panel, including networking info, video settings, and more.
- Installing: Very easy. All it takes is three screws and the camera is mounted to whatever surface you need it on. The cable comes out from the base to the side, making flush mount relatively easy. PoE is a big plus as well, meaning you only need one cable to run (as long as your switch supports 802.3af or you have an injector)
Con's
- Amcrest Cloud. While convenient, setting up the camera on a cloud account was a bit difficult. You sign up for an account, then have to enter the card's S/N to enable access. While easy, this means the camera is always connected to Amcrest's servers, so I don't know how that affects data usage or ease of access by nefarious folk
Once you figure out where you need to go and what to do, then the rest is pretty easy. However, when you configure your camera with the cloud, it reduces video quality dramatically, decreasing the video bit rate & dropping to 15 fps. You can go back in the web panel and readjust your settings, but I'm not sure if it resets when you restart the camera or not. It would be nice if the Cloud could choose from Main or Sub stream, and enable higher resolutions for the sub stream to feed Cloud, while the Main stream feeds higher quality to local storage.
- No mic. Not a deal breaker, but in case you need to pick up a conversation about how your friends hate you while you're in the bathroom, then you may have to rely on lip reading.
- Motion detection: No matter what I did in the web panel, motion detection settings would not save. As soon as you reloaded the panel, they would reset. The motion detection on the cloud seemed to be okay, but it definitely needs refined.
- Firmware updates. There is no mention of this particular camera's firmware anywhere on the site. When I asked Amcrest about it, there was no ETA yet. I'm not sure if it shares firmware with any other camera.
- Rain shield. Does not really keep rain off the lens of the camera.. could be a bit longer to prevent that, if it won't affect the camera's vision
Overall, for the price, the camera is good value for money. If you're needing something simple to keep an eye on your prized possessions, you should be satisfied. For $50, it's a pretty good value. Some quirks here and there that can be fixed with firmware.

I decided to risk voiding the warranty and attempt to repair the camera myself. Was able to fix it by snapping off the flat plastic front panel around the very front of the lens, then unscrewed the 2 screws holding the larger black plastic ring on the front of the camera. Pulled insides out and re-seated the little wire connectors and little ribbon cable inside which fixed it, the POE and the camera are working good now.

Disappointed with the new Hikvision cameras, I gave this Amcrest camera a try since I needed a bullet camera for a particular application (all my other cameras are dome type). Honestly, after setting this up I will never buy Hikvision again. You can set up four different detection regions with different levels of sensitivity for motion detection, the email features are better, and the DDNS, FTP and other features are as expected. Best of all, I don't need to re-encode the MP4 files after downloading them like you have to do nowadays with Hikvision. Only thing that might make me flash Dahua firmware on this camera is the absence of line crossing / intrusion detection. Minus one star for that, and for the video quality which is only 4K if you use a 4:3 aspect ratio. If you want 16:9 you will have to drop the resolution to 2688x1520. At least flashing Dahua firmware is an option, which I like. For the price, it's hard to pass up.
UPDATE: Firmware has failed after 2 months. Cannot view playback properly now, with any browser. Even after a hard reboot, it just flops. Also, it keeps re-enabling P2P, which allows foreign actors unfettered access to my camera, and most likely, my entire network. I will never buy one again.

If I enable the "Auto Maintain" to reboot the camera once every day, it will work fine. I have two of these cameras and they both do the same thing. I replaced one with a different camera model which works fine. I contacted Amcrest customer support but they were unable to duplicate this issue. I suspect they didn't spend enough time troubleshooting. I see others who have reported this same issue. No firmware update so far.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lost IR after a year
Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2022
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
I have 8 Amcrest cameras and a 16 channel NVR. I like the system and it was fairly easy to setup. However, a month after my 1 year warranty, this model has lost its IR lights. The other cameras I have all still work but this one is dead. Because I'm out of warranty, I'll have to just buy a new camera and deal with it. Very disappointed with what was otherwise a great camera.

2.0 out of 5 stars NOT SUITABLE FOR COLD WEATHER
Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
Update: This camera consistently fails at 12 degrees Fahrenheit. NOT SUITABLE FOR COLD WEATHER. The Amcrest app only finds this camera if on the local broadcast domain. There is no way to customize the search criteria. The web interface did not support my mobile browsers, but worked well with computer based browsers, notably Firefox. Image quality is good, and web setup is straightforward. It is currently working fine in 14 degree F weather.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time. Junk!
Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2020

Bought 3 of these for my house outdoor views. Replacing old Foscam HD cameras. Had high hopes after fairly simple setup using their Android viewer but everything went south within hours. For first hour all 3 worked fine, great images with lots of detail. Did all the configurations and closed app. An hour later(after dark) opened the app to view and all 3 reverted to black screens with message"unauthorized". Close and re-open, now they all stated " no connection". Waited overnight and tried again in AM same story. Tried everything, rebooted modem and router, power cycled the switches, reinstalled app, re- scanned the QR codes, tried to set up on their desktop viewer app no luck. Not visible on their camera search function. Strangely enough they all show up, with all info, on TinyCam app after network scan but cannot connect or local view. My Router likewise lists all the cameras on network map but they cannot be viewed. Called Amcrest tech support, explained everything and wasted 45 min. with no answers. They stated to do a "ticket" and wait days for them to escalate. I need reliable cameras not buggy junk. I should have known based on all the terrible 1 star reviews of their app on Play store. Would never buy again, Foscam products lasted 10 years in brutal weather with no connectivity or software issues and these cameras lasted 10 minutes. Amazing that cameras which appear to be such good quality could function so unreliably. I believe it is the software, which they are unable to support or even understand. I am returning to Amazon ASAP.

1.0 out of 5 stars Constantly have to be reset.
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
When these work, they're great. BUT they are having to be reset all the time. They lock up and go dead and I have to unplug them from the POE switch and plug them back in to reset them. I have 8 other Amcrest IP cameras (the 3 meg version of these) on this same system and they do not have this problem. I have both of these set to Auto reset once a week and even that does not help. Again, NONE of the other 8 on this 16 Channel NVR do this. They work great. Too late to return them so I guess I just have to reset them manually every couple of days. Not happy.

1.0 out of 5 stars these cameras go offline every couple days

these cameras go offline every couple days and will not turn back on untill i reset the PoE switch. bought 4 of them, and they all have the same problem, AT THE SAME TIME, so i'm sure it is something to do with a memory leak / bad programming or something. whatever the case, they are A HORRIBLE choice for home security DVR which is exactly when i use them for. VERY UPSET go with a better brand, you get what you pay for here.
work around idea: there is a setting where you can have the camera auto-reboot once a week or once a day at a specified time. i'm going to see if that's enough of a work around to save the money of replacing these... the video quality is good enough that i'd like to not have to spend more money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buggy Camera - unreliable, connection constantly drops
Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2021
Color: WhiteVerified Purchase
As other reviewers have mentioned this camera drops connections randomly for days at a time. I have over a dozen cameras on my network, including several Amcrest models and this is the only model that has an issue. Disconnecting and/or rebooting the camera physically resets the problem or just wait for it to fix itself after a few days.
Seems sensitive to cold too, anything below 45 degrees tends to trigger a connection drop but happens during summer and warmer days too.

10 months since purchase. The RTSP stream now turns to a checkerboard pattern and the camera's built in http server doesn't respond. If I reboot/reset the camera the same problem happens after 24 hours.
Amcrest's RMA department wants me to pay to ship the replacement which is expensive.

I purchased a model earlier this year. I downloaded the application and tried to get it to detect the camera. It never worked. Incidentally I had someone visit my place this year and took some things and never returned them. It would have been nice to have had this working when I spent a few evenings trying. This could have been a good review. Although, it failed to deliver on ease and support.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good until it failed from water ingress.
Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2022

The camera failed a month after the warranty ended. The claims of being waterproof are not accurate. Upon disconnecting the ethernet socket I discovered soot on two of the contacts. Hoping for the best, I cleaned both the plug and the socket of charring. Alas the camera would not turn back on. The POE injector also displayed a fault in the connection. The included picture shows what the plug looked like after cleaning. It looked much worst initially. The silicone sleeve provided with the unit did not stop water ingress and now the camera is dead.
