I brought this one to replace my old 'Smart' door bell (by MI). After several days of use I was impressed by how well this new one works.
The installation was simple and smooth, it comes with a secure mount which supposed to be screwed in, but I just used 3M doublesided tape, works fine. It also has a base which stays inside the house talk to the camera, functional as a storage I guess. I don't see a external storage slot but their support said it has a 8gb space to rotate and can record over 2 Months of footage? If it's true that should be good for me.
The app I used on my phone it's quite intuitive and easy to configure. The best feature I like is the motion detection, very accurate, records every movement infront of my door, much better than the old one, I won't miss any package coming anymore:). The only complaint for now is somehow I cannot directly download the footage from the storage, I have to use their video record feature, it's ok, but will take more time than direct download. I don't know why, seems their cloud storage has direct download, maybe they will fix it in later update.
Looks like the battery also could last much longer than the old one, I will update later after using in winter, it's cold here, let's see.. overall I'm very satisfied with the performance of this product, will update more later if I find anything.

This doorbell has 1) local video storage (in a Base Unit). Can store many videos and view them any time on your phone. Other units require a subscription for video storage or an SD card that you buy and insert. So this Aosu is the best for video storage and immediate viewing. The Base Unit also has the inside chime sounds. 2) the battery is built-in and rechargeable. Not only is the re-charge so easy, but the battery life was in the longest in comparison with the 15 other units I checked into. So handling the battery was the easiest and it had the longest life. 3). Has the best field of view in any of the units. There were two units that had a little wider for, but they required video subscriptions or had short lasting batteries.
I checked into many units and read all their reviews. This was the very best in quality and features! I am very, very happy with it. (Also, it was on sale on Amazon, so I lucked out with a great buy!) ??

Update: After a month using this doorbell, here is another reason to purchase. Most of us are not 100% what we might want from such a device. The other doorbell cameras have different versions...battery operated, hard wired, etc. The beauty of this product is that it's ready to grow and change with you. After 1 week, we realized we should have it hard wired to power. Not only can we wire this to an existing doorbell setup at 12v, you can also power it full time with 5v. We chose to power if full time with 5v and it works flawlessly. Also, the camera on the doorbell can support Google home, We can ask the smart assistant to stream the video right to any smart tv in our home. I can't stress how great the 5mp camera will go beyond meeting your expectations.

Aosu delivers- it has three systems which detect human images (motion, radar and thermal image), it also records and saves to the app (if needed later) . I have it on confirmed images (which means its about five seconds delayed from actual )but prevents you from worrying about wind or other weather plant movement near your front porch. The beeps it delivers are unique but not jarring and we love the prerecorded expressions that you can simply hit and play if you are on the phone and can not talk to the person at the door.
Its been three weeks now and we love everything about the product. The images are also expandable when viewing (like regular web based pics) so you can look more closely at peoples faces if desired as well. All in all we are very happy with the product and it looks from the outside are very attractive as well.

I had a Nooie Doorbell setup that was doing OK enough I suppose. There were some recurring latency issues that could not be cured with either better base station placement or wifi extenders strategically placed (I do not live in a large house). I was also not receiving all doorbell notifications. I spent the money to replace the Nooie after my wife disconnected the Nooie's base station so I would not see a package being delivered for my birthday (the really big Lego Star Destroyer - so cool) and months later we were never able to get the doorbell to reconnect to the wifi.
On to the Aosu Doorbell: setup was a breeze, base station setup and linking process took me all of 2 minutes as did setting everything up on the app, I did have to drill a new hole in masonry out front since their base plate did not match up to the holes I had already drilled for the past doorbell (whatever, this is what I have a powerdrill for), everything simply went together exactly the way it was supposed to on the first try.
Usability: so far no latency issues receiving notifications, the image is crystal clear (I can pinch and zoom to see people's faces clearly out into the street - I'm thinking I can even do this for someone on the other side of the street but have not had an opportunity to do so yet), the motion tracking parameters are a breeze to setup in the app interface and thus far seem to working perfectly (i.e. I have it set that people walking by on the sidewalk do not generate a notification, but once they step a few feet onto the lawn or into the driveway the notification does occur).
Lastly, the doorbell chime is nice and loud. Had some issues with not hearing the last doorbell we had.
I would recommend this new brand to anyone.

First, love the idea of a security camera that saves data locally as well as on the cloud. Free is always good!
But, for all the good points about this product it has some serious flaws!
- on install everything was simple, except I wasted about 2-3 hours of my life due to bad product manual. No where in the manual did it say anything about problems with long wifi names and the software hangs up on wifi recognition step without any idea how to fix it. I had to change my wifi name to a come date this camera.
- and this is a seriously bad flaw, the motion detection or ability for it to start recording doesn't kick in or start until a few seconds. So basically a package thief can rush and grab your package and leave and all you will see is the back of their head. I tried everything and with setting on best or most sensitive I still only get video of the person leaving.
-Small point but the way you share videos is very cumbersome. The software isn't user friendly to share clips with police etc.
I'm hoping they can fix these issues in the future as I like that this camera saves data locally!

It was so great while it lasted. But after about a month it just turned off and stopped working. We thought it might have died so we brought it in and charged it for a whole day. It turned back on and we thought we solved the problem until it turned off again about a week later. The charge is supposed to last way more than a week so now it’s just useless.

UPDATED from 2 to 4 stars. Customer service reached out to me letting me know about the Amazon AWS outage, which effected their service. Everything is working fine now. The one issue I have with the camera/app is the delay in notifications when there is movement. I can be from 10 to 15 seconds. I'm not entirely sure if there is a way around that or not. Other than that, I love that it has the ability to limit the motion detection area so it's not picking up neighbors or street traffic and I really like that you can use this without having to subscribe to a cloud service.

Initially, when I set it up, everything worked great, but I was unable to mount the doorbell so I had to go and figure out different solutions. Here it is December 7th, and I finally figured out how to mount it but now I can't get the app to work. I'm livid and will be returning this too if I can't find a solution. I'm extremely disappointed.

I bought this doorbell because with radar detection, I supposed it would be a good bit better at not detecting motion of objects far from my door. In fact, it was much better. And of course, it also didn't require me to pay anyone a monthly monitoring fee.
However, although the unit is very good at what it does, I found a behavior I definitely didn't like, and I discontinued use. I have a 5G wifi "hotspot" which I use for all my wireless, at home or elsewhere, which limits me to 100 GB/month. Now this doorbell, of course, uses wireless internet, but if you have not signed up for monitoring, the wireless should all be on your local home LAN, and not causing traffic to/from any remote site. But when I first started using this doorbell, I would find very large data transfers occurring from my hotspot to somewhere, like as much as 4 GB. That can seriously eat into a 100 GB monthly limit.
Although the data transfer might have been from other IoT devices in the home, when I shut down the doorbell, the problem went away. So I don't know what was being transferred, but I am certain the culprit was this doorbell. With all the talk of devices spying on us theses days, I have decided to discontinue use.
If that problem doesn't concern you, then I highly recommend the unit.

This video doorbell is reasonably priced, has a super-clear picture, is easy to set up and use, has numerous features (including free video storage) and a much longer battery life than the more well-known brands.
Unfortunately, it's too slow to react to do much good as a security monitor. By the time you receive a notification the person is gone. It does a good job when the doorbell is actually pressed though, which is mainly what I wanted it for.
Their app and website were both down for a couple of days when I originally tried setting the device up, so I returned it to Amazon and left a neutral review. The seller reached out to me and offered a generous solution. I'm very impressed with their customer service and it's a nice video doorbell, but needs some technical improvements. Perhaps these issues will be addressed in future firmware updates.

I would have given 5 stars accept for a few minor issues: the triggered events, when playing back, quite often buffers and it takes a few moments to see the whole thing. Also, I wish there was a way that you could transfer the recordings from the internal storage to other devices (phone, laptop, etc). I also wish it would give an audible alert on my phone when a triggering event occurs.
Aside from these minor issues, I still think this is a great value for the price and it beats the Google Nest doorbell in every way imaginable.

This doorbell works well, good picture, good night vision and installed with the house wiring. These are the issues I have, installation I had considerable problems getting it into the mount and doubt I'll ever be able to get it out again. When someone rings the bell or a notification pops up if you click on the notification it takes you not to the camera realtime but the video it took even if they are still standing there. To see the camera realtime you have to back out of the video to the main screen and click the main screen to see the camera. The whole time the screen on the app buffers with a loading circle. I question the support given, when installing when I was done the app said the battery was low to charge it. There's nothing in the documentation about the charging except removing the doorbell and hooking it up to a charger and then replacing it. I sent a question to support to ask if the battery will charge from the house wiring, the response was "yes you can hook it up to the house wiring." That's not what I asked and it's obvious my message wasn't read. In all it's okay but needs improvement and better support

Had to squeeze it in there but holds well. I think it might be affecting the audio communication, however. If someone does ring the doorbell, by the time I open the app and it loads the feed, usually they are gone.

Update: Jan 2022. I think this would work better if it were facing straight out from the door, versus a side installation. I wanted to use my existing doorbell wiring though so moving it was not a reasonable option for me.
Try as I might, I could not get the motion detection to work well enough. I can walk up to my door, unlock it, open it, and walk inside, and all I am catching is my door closing. Walking out, it will trigger and basically not catch me, or barely catch my backside for less than a second. Customer support did get back to me, offered some suggestions that did not help my situation. So I sent it back.
I bought this to replace my sky bell, which worked great at first, but in the end, was picking up every car driving by, even with detection set to minimum. Install of this unit was easy. I like that it has battery backup and local storage. After installing it, I got far fewer random notifications! But then I worried it was working at all, so I'd walk out to test it. It seems like if I walk up to the door and walk into my own house, it will not catch me, and will only catch the door closing. Same goes for if I walk out my own door. I'm playing around with the motion detection settings to see if I can make it any better. Will update my review when I have more data.

I give this a two star as the video picture is great and the doorbell works. However the motion detection is basically non existent. I’ve had this video doorbell for a week now and it detected motion for a few hrs the first day installed then stopped for no reason. Contacted customer service, wasn’t helpful. She finally gave up and said she’d open a technical issue ticket and someone would contact me in 24-48 hrs, which never happened. I contacted them again, via chat through their app. They continue to say the same things over and over. So I tried reinstalling and starting over with setup, it worked again for a day and then stopped detecting motion/notifying of motion. What’s the point of a video doorbell if it doesn’t detect motion? Will be returning.

The reason I am chalking both of them up as a loss and replacing them, is because I’ve been back and forth with their customer service for over 2 weeks now trying to get the defective one replaced. I give up, their stubbornness over a $120 product is ridiculous. They just keep asking me to repeat the installation process over and over, never anything new, never any progress.
If you do buy this, don’t be me and let it sit beyond the Amazon return window. We bought it for our new house and just let it sit for a while. Now we're screwed.

I had to "upgrade" to this doorbell camera when i had my internet service upgraded. The old camera was great and cost $80. Loved it.
The battery would last at least 3 months, even in the winter, without charging. I would pick up images of deer in my yard and it was simple to use and intuitive.
This thing is not nearly as nice, at almost twice the price. I have to charge it at least once a month, and it detects movement randomly. I've played with the detection settings and tried to get it to just detect motion in my yard rather than in the street. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
I get dozens of notices a day from wind moving a tree branch, or the sun simply coming out and casting a shadow. Yet my neighbor said he saw a moose in my yard walk right by my door and nothing on the camera.

The battery then lasted less than 8 hours. That was enough frustration and we returned the product. Luckily, still within returning period. If the battery problem was fixed, this Doorbell camera would be great. Our home is not wired for doorbell.
The product was easy to instal. Motion detection was good with wide angle field and timely alerts. The video quality was good also.
The battery discharged so quickly and that defeated the purpose of having battery powered video doorbell.
We are not sure how well the wired version will work.

I received the product 2 days ago and quickly installed it. It seemed to work good at first but sometimes the video playback would pause or freeze. My internet is dual band and I was under 5g. I was going to switch it over this afternoon to 2.4g to see if that connection was stronger however while at work I realized that I was not connected at all. The app was saying that no device was connected. When I got home, I decided to switch over but I was unable to. I tried numerous times to reset it but it would not connect. I then tried to go back to the 5g but now it won't connect to that either.
I can not get passed the point where the doorbell is supposed scan the QR code. When I click on display the QR code I get an error saying that it failed to connect, it won't even display the QR code for me to scan. In frustration, I then tried to close my account and start from the very beginning however when I choose that option, I get an error saying that it failed to close my account.
I'm feeling very frustrated right now and about a heartbeat away from returning this product.

Update: company sent me another unit , the day I installed it it worked fine, and recorded events in same day, so that is it no events recorded afterward , same problem like the first unit . and by the way the 2 nd unit been installed in different location than the first unit.
First review:
1- App very bad, stopping while playing an event, no FF or Rewind , very generic
2- First day after installation, I made the motion detection 25 Ft, did not restrict any area , and record all events for testing .
3- It recorded about 4 events of passing cars and people within 30 minutes or so then stopped recording.
4- I unplugged the base and plugged it back did not solve the problem, I removed the app and reinstall it, started to record again almost all events occurred, but..
The delivery came and rang my bell , I opened and stood outside the door in front with him then went inside , viewed the even, it only showed the delivery guy from his back leaving half way down the steps.
5- Next day same thing again recorded for an hour and stopped recording for good.
6- I posted the problems in a form of questions on Amazon for someone or the SELLER to help, but no one answered.

App asks for what unit model, Ultra or Pro but the unit, the box, or the docs did not indicate which it was. I guessed "Ulta", but who knows?
App step "Install HomeBase Plug" a bit confusing because, as I discovered, it was already installed on the homebase
App step "Start your doorbell" mentions the "Breathing blue light flashes", I didn't know if the Breathing Blue light) was on the Homebase or the main doorbell (it's the blue ring around the main doorbell button).
App step "Connect your device" indicates to press sync button and wait for "click", I got a squeal.
During the app set-up the software insisted on me giving access to my location which I don't see why it needs it and that is a negative for me.
For the physical install the camera gave me plenty of alerts and images while I sampled different places to set it up (a good thing doing what it was designed to do). The unit comes with an extra mount that adds a angle to avoid walls (a very good thing). Fully mounted, it was not particularly strong, a mid-sized screw driver would probably let it be pried off rather easily (but that was not a deal breaker).
After install >Adjusting setting, Motion zones it gave alert "Please update firmware for latest version". I chose the update option (under Settings) after about 10 min of "updating" I received a "Timed Out" alert and restarted the update... and then again, and again, and one last time, without success.
After failed download of update, gave system an actual test... I walked up on unit, as I neared the blue light pulsed (barely see in bright light), but no alert was sent. I went to "EVENTS", which displayed an ad for cloud storage (which I don't want and why I chose this device), at the bottom of the page, in small print I chose "Not Enabled, Use Local Storage", which resulted in the alert "Your device is offline. Please try again later", and I noted the green light on the homebase was flashing. There is no trouble shooting help in the docs or online. I was never able to access any Events after that point.
I went to the AOSU website for help and discovered the site is not even complete, with some pages that just had unfilled in templates. Under the "SUPPORT" tab there was Contact Us, Productduct [sic], Order Tracking, and Warranty Policy. The online manual was the same crappy manual provided in the box.
I was fed up and didn't want the hassle this camera comes with and decided to return it. On a brighter note, having never returned a Amazon product before I didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be quite easy using a nearby Amazon locker. DO NOT RECOMMEND. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I have other camera's and a doorbell camera that perform very well, but when the doorbell hardware failed after a few months and was not supported by the vendor, I thought I would try this one.
The setup is easy, good video and it seems to support both wired and battery but I just used the battery for a quick/simple install and thought I might go back later and wire it up after I recharged the battery the first time.
Unfortunately, I did not see or give the proper weight to the few reviews that indicate the motion alerts are inconsistent (fails to notice a person at the door) and delayed alerts.
I've only had it a couple of days, but so far motion alerts are typically minutes after the event. When I tested by going out and pressing the doorbell button, it can take the app at least 30 to 40 seconds to alert me to the doorbell ringing if it alerted me at all... not acceptable for a doorbell app. My cameras from another vendor (and the old doorbell before it died) alert me in seconds. Additionally, I turned the video quality down to "smooth" to lower the bandwidth needs. While I can also see within my Wi-Fi system that I'm getting 98% to 99% Wi-Fi experience the video continues to pause/fail and the alerts are very delayed.
I like the hardware and the instructions, but they are going to have to improve the speed of the alerts/video. The one star is in spite of the positives, the sole mission of a device/app like this is to tell you when someone is at the door and let you interact with them -- big fail. I'm going to box this one up to return and try something else.

The doorbell function worked but would not couple to my android phone. I spent 3 days and about 6 man hours on the phone with 4 different techs walking me through the process. I had to have the router split so it could get 2.4 something or other. I did that called back and after 3 exhausting days I gave up, had the electrician back to take it down and install the old hardwired doorbell. Amazon refunded me 100% and I swore off buying anything further that requires an app.
