5.0 out of 5 stars EXACTLY the camera I was looking for!

My criteria for a camera was simple, yet specific:

* It had to be wireless (I was NOT running cable)
* It had to have night vision.
* It had to be motion triggered.
* It had to be solar powered (I was NOT going to have extension cords running up the side of my house).

I live out in the country, so security isn't my priority. However, viewing the various forms of wildlife was. We have deer, bear, moose, bats, foxes, coyotes, mountain lions, etc. that routinely pay us visits, and I love to catch a glimpse whenever I can.

The Reolink camera was perfect.

It's part of my daily routine; checking the playback to see what visitors I had the night before. The camera was super simple to install and connect to my Wi-Fi, and the solar panels haven't let me down once--even when it's been cloudy out during the day.

In my case these cameras (bought 2) were a splurge, but its an investment that pays off each and every day.

Easy installation and easy to use app. I had everything completely done within an hour. So right now everything works as it should. I'm still playing around with the app to learn more about the camera. I installed the solar panel and it's pretty cool that you can see the battery charge via the app.

Have never had a Reolink camera before, and many of these wifi cameras can be a nightmare and a waste of money! This camera though was easy to setup and has worked great! The solar keeps the battery charged and have had no problems with dropping wifi or phone app not working. Will definitely buy another!
UPDATE: Over 2 yrs of daily use and this camera is still working flawlessly. Battery still charges and maintains a charge for days without sun! Will buy the newer version camera when this one fails. Well worth the money!

I ordered two of the Reolink Argus Eco + Solar Panel security cameras and one of the Argus Pro cameras and a separate solar panel for that item. I received all but the one solar panel (it stated that it would be shipped at a later date, so no surprise there) within 24 hours of ordering. All of the cameras were extremely easy to set up and I had a complete 3-camera system setup and installed within 4 hours. Any questions that I had could be found in the instructions, in the app that you download, or online on their support pages. I did not need to call tech support at all.

So far, I like the system very much. We set up my wife's phone and tablet in a matter of minutes so that she could also check in on the camera feeds. I would recommend these items to anyone wanting a quick security camera system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome alternative for homes where you can't install wire runs.

Waited awhile to write a review for these. I ordered and installed 5 of them on my house and I love them. Will eventually add 3 more to have 2 cameras on each side of the house. They record motion events only and not continuously. But, that is good for battery life. On that note, battery life is very good. Even with a lot of motion and recording, I don't ever see more than about 6% loss overnight. As soon as the sun comes up, they top off. Literally, I love these cameras. I install systems for a living and can vouch for these as a great consumer grade camera and the price is very reasonable.

I have them installed on a 2 story house that I can't really run cat 6 cable for ip cameras to a reasonable location. I don't, often, recommend the use of wireless cameras because they present a security risk. But, if you have a smart home, like I do, do yourself a favor and get something like the trend micro home network security box and add a layer of protection and you should be fine.

Way to go, Reolink. Please, keep making great products like these.

I have the Ring doorbell, and thought it was good quality. That was until UPS delivered a $150 package, which was stolen within two minutes. The Ring recorded nothing but a black video with no audio. That’s why I bought this camera.

I installed it today, and wow! The picture quality is incredible, the app is very easy to use, and I subscribed to the cloud storage in case the camera dies or gets stolen, and it’s only $3.49/mo! Because I live in Florida, the entire downstairs of my house is built with cinderblocks for hurricanes, so the wifi doesn’t really reach out there too well. However, unlike the Ring, the antenna on this camera has no problem feeding me a 1080P signal at 15 FPS. Bottom line: if you need a good camera for a great price, and something that’s fairly easy to setup, I strongly recommend going with this!

*There is one issue I ran into. The screws for the camera mount either weren’t long enough or not wide enough to securely lock into the included wall anchors. I just got some longer screws from my garage and they worked just fine!

5.0 out of 5 stars The only 100% wireless camera I could find that works even when internet is down.

I've bought more than one of these cameras. My home need is: I didn't want to run power cords from an outlet or a data cables from my house to the camera, I didn't want to have to periodically change batteries, and I didn't want to pay a monthly fee to access the feed, or be unable to see recordings if the internet was down. This camera, available with solar panel-charger and the camera all included for less than $100, is precisely the right camera for my need. After connecting it to wifi, I have 24/7 access to see what's going on at my house, and I didn't have to run any wires through or across the interior/exterior of the house. It's literally in a stand-alone position, mounted to the exterior of the house with zero wires attached to it.

And, unlike other solar cameras that only rely on cloud storage, this camera will not drain the battery if it the wifi is down all day. It continues operating and recording to the micro SD card (not included; buy your own card) . You can manually access the memory card you put it somewhere out of internet range, or if your internet is simply not connected/ not working / not strong enough to transmit. It is waterproof, so: no worries leaving it outside.

The talk feature (tap on the app to talk to it & listen to the camera microphone in real time) actually works better than I'd expect. --- incredible value for under $100.

One thing to note: the playback feature (seeing clips saved from motion activation earlier in the day) only works if you put a micro SD card in it. By the same token, if you're using it somewhere where there is no internet, maybe at the back of your property or in the woods to use as a game camera, then putting an SD card in it is the only way you'll have access to the recordings. It records on motion to the SD card slot (if you put the micro SD card in it), and takes up to a 64gb card; I'd think it'd make a decent game camera because it's waterproof decent at night recording and the solar panel can keep it charged, but I'm not sure how many short clips it would record on motion until it filled up 64GB worth of footage and overwrote the recordings; 64GB is a lot of space... maybe it'd be months of footage, I'm not sure --- you'd have to play with it to see.

Bottom line: I can't find another camera that accomplishes everything this one does, and it's amazing to have technology this fantastic, delivered to your door, for less than $100.

100% worth buying, they had been stealing from my work truck a couple times last week so I bought these cameras because there was no hardwiring involved and I needed some thing solar powered and easy to install. It wasn’t long before the thief came back and he finally caught him on camera stealing from our work truck.

These cameras will notify you every time there is movement, even when a car is passing by, I get notifications every time a car passes my house. But I was able to set up a schedule for the camera to only record at night in between the hours when I sleep. You can set up a recording schedule or record every movement if you would like.

I now have three of these cameras around my house, I purchased a 256 GB micro memory chip to record replays of the motion segments. Or you can pay a monthly fee of $4.99 for 80 GB cloud service!!!! These cameras are absolutely awesome and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Support Had Been Great then It Failed-UPDATE ORIGINAL SUPPORT RETURNED, Excellent Support Again
Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2020

The picture is beautiful but as you can see I had a problem. I recently went to an Orbi which was simpler than I anticipated. Then a major power outage occurred. I just could’t get it to connect. I contacted support to complain about how hard it was going to be for me to fix. I have it on a low point of my roof. I started out mad at the world. Support has been patient, calming, helpful, and offered to talk/walk me thru the reconnection. I went out of town so haven’t tried it yet but they told me to call them at start. I don’t believe it will be difficult-support has truly been supportive. Basically I reattach to my Orbi-delete, scan, add. I have to gush once more about support-customer service at its finest. I wish more companies would realize “I’m sorry” doesn’t fix problems, action and answers is the key. Thank You Support.

UPDATE
THE PERSON PROVIDING SUPPORT WAS OFF TODAY. THE NEW ONE DIDN’T RED THE PREVIOUS BACK/FORTH EMAILS. IT TURNED FROM WONDERFUL TO TERRIBLE. I HAVE TWO OF THESE CAMERAS AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. THE ONE IS AT THE LAKE ON A EAVE OF THE ROOF TO GET THE SOLAR POWERED. I LEARNED YOU CAN DELETE THE CABIN FROM THE APP BUT NOT ADD BACK IN. YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR LADDER OUT TO RESCAN THE BAR CODE, RESET YOUR ROUTER, AND PUT IT BACK UP. I TRIED 3 TIMES BUT IT STILL WON’T CONNECT. I BOUGHT IT IN JULY 2019 KNOWING I WAS CHANGING RESIDENCES. WE ENDED UP CLOSING MID-OCTOBER. I AM TIRED OF UP/DOWN LADDERS. I AM THROWING AWAY THE CAMERA. I DIDN’T ASK FOR ANYTHING BUT WANTED THEM TO KNOW THAT OTHER BRANDS ARE EASIER TO INSTALL, CHANGE ROUTERS, CHANGE INTERNET COMPANIES. I HAVE 3 BLINK AND NEVER USED A LADDER. I DID IT ALL FROM MY EASY CHAIR.

THE SECOND CAMERA WAS ABOUT 3 YES OLD AT MY MAIN HOME. IT WAS PLUGGED IN AND HAD WIRED INTERNET. IT JUST DIED ONE DAY. I DIDN’T ASK FOR A RETURN. I KNEW THAT SOME CAMERAS ONLY LAST TWO YEARS. I TRIED A COUPLE THINGS SUPPORT SUGGESTED. IT IS DEAD. TRASH COMES MONDAY. THIS BRAND OF CAMERA IS NOT INTUITIVE, NOT USER FRIENDLY, AND SUPPORT IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU GET THE RIGHT PERSON. COULD HAVE SAVED MYSELF A LOT OF TIME BY JUST THROWING THEM OUT AND GOING TO A BRAND THAT I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH. I WANTED TO HELP THEM MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT BUT EVIDENTLY THEY DON’T NEED FEEDBACK.

UPDATE 2
The original support person contacted me. We are returning to where we left off. I am deleting the camera, adding back in, taking a photo of upc code to paste on card for next time if needed, and add back in. She gave me her telephone contact so I can call for help at any time during process. I will update after that and show an after picure. Stay tuned for Update 3. I will also let you know how my photo of camera code works.

UPDATE 3

My original support person returned. We tried several things but in the end the company replaced it. I have one more idea that may have caused the problem. I have this at a lake house with solar panel on roof and camera under eave. There was a storm right before the connection went bad. For some reason I believe (just conjecture) that it interrupted a firmware update. When it couldn’t reconnect the camera would be unreachable. This is one in a million but someone has to be the one. When I send it back maybe they will be able to tell. Another thing I wish all cameras came with is a mall card with the scan card that matches camera scan. It would make it easier to delete and add. The camera has a beautiful clear picture. The solar panel keeps it charged. I am back to endorsing it fully. My son is a communications Engineer and I am retired telecommunications network architect so I am sure that we can be difficult customers for support. Thank you Hilary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hi quality video & audio w/ solar powered cam that anyone can set up in 10 minutes
Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2019

Affordable high quality video and audio in a solar powered camera that anyone can set up and secure an area in ten minutes.

The camera's built in audio set-up and the phone app made seeing this camera up a cinch. The solar panel does a great job charging the camera! I've been testing this for about a month now and I am very satisfied with the performance of this camera. The audio and the video via WiFi and cellular are outstanding and much better than I expected. I am very happy with this purchase. I'll post some screen shots and video in the next day or two. Also the range for this camera is outstanding. I have an acre and a half sized yard and was able to receive from about 2/3 of it. This is much better than most other WiFi devices that I have. I do have two WiFi boosters so I tested it with them turned off and had the same range except where I have two out buildings that block the wifi and could only get it back with the booster, however that's expected and I doubt any other camera would perform much better. I also appreciate the onboard slot for a memory card which expands it's capability to record video locally, so in the event I do lose WiFi, the memory stick will still capture the video. Another feature I like is the night vision, within 30 feet the picture is clear and well lit, thanks to the four infrared illuminators. At night you can see the illuminators kick on when the camera detects motion. It also came with a tree strap which was handy for strapping it to a tree without damaging the bark by strapping the mount to the tree itself, and makes it easier to quickly move it to another place. If I had two wishes for this camera is that it would have slightly stronger IR illuminators for extended night time viewing reach, however that might increase the cost, and a different color housing so it could be more stealthy hanging on a tree. I prefer having the camera covert so the bad guys don't try to steal it. Otherwise I would highly recommend buying this camera and I find it is a good value for the money after the first month of using it.

This particular model does a very good job. The picture quality is excellent the ease-of-use of the app is excellent. The client at for desktop again excellent.

For whatever reasons after several months of use of this camera it failed to power up. Given the really poor customer service that seems to be luck of the draw I was skeptical about contacting reolink representatives. I read a few reviews that were very discouraging as far as the support from this company.

From my initial contact with reolink via email their response was always in a timely manner. In the course of contacting several representatives and getting the response even on a Saturday and a Sunday they were professional and courteous and 100% concerned with replacing my camera. They told me there was a two-year warranty asked me for a few photos of the PowerLight and barcode information on the side of the camera and that was all they required.

Today I received the replacement camera from Amazon, but reolink had sent the replacement camera even before receiving a tracking number from me when I return the defective camera.

Extremely good customer service and accompany that seemed genuinely concerned with customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction seems to be an old-fashioned concept and in some cases a nonexistent concept. I would recommend this product and again say that the support staff and representatives that I dealt with were very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Camera...Can't Monitor Live Though
Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2022

OVERALL: A very reliable camera and many features for the price. Great Android and Windows apps. Free cloud storage (with a one month renewal) or pay for cloud and get more space. I just use the 128GB Samsung Select EVO card in all my cameras that use them.

PICTURE: Clear in day and night (when positioned correctly..ie not pointing at the Sun)

MOTION DETECTION: Excellent, and can be adjusted with the app for "hot zones". At night a cat came to the camera and was very curious about the it. He was sniffing it and it was really cool to see a cat when he doesn't have a human watching (that they know of). The motion detection can be set to pre-record and post-record when movement stops (with the settings in the app).

PICTURE QUALITY: Excellent! Day and night recordings were very clear. I have never even cleaned a lens on my 4 year old cameras. I do have to rag off cob webs often here. NOTE: IR is great but you have to be in the know about how any IR works...once it hits an object, everything beyond that may be a little blurry.

DURABILITY: It's a plastic housing but it is durable enough to protect the innards. I even use an indoor E1 outside with no issues (it's under a patio cover) as both cameras are rated for up to 131F (degrees)...In Phoenix it only approaches 120F.

VALUE: Reolink IS the best bang for the buck in residential surveillance products. I know they're better quality than Swann (twice the price for half the features) or any off brand I've tried. Their QC is excellent as is the engineering of their products. For residential use, these are great and could be fine in a small business setting.

CONNECTIVITY: Excellent. It worked without connection failure on both 2.4MHz and 5MHz networks at around 100 feet from the router. Also worked through many walls, including block walls at that distance.

SUMMARY:
Another EXCELLENT product from Reolink. I does exactly what it claims and very well. I purchased this for my parents as they got rid of the cable company's $30/month monitoring. I returned it only because Reolink's battery (solar to battery) powered cameras can not be monitored live constantly as it would drain the battery too much (possibly). We wanted that feature. The return is easy as with all Amazon sold products. I ended up going with a Reolink wi-fi 5MP AC or POE bullet camera and two E1 Pro 4MP wifi for them. I use an old PC to monitor 24/7. I only recommend Reolink. I have dealt with customer service and they were quick to answer and helpful without the runaround or resistance. I have a four year old DVR with 6 POE 5MP cameras and 3 E1 cameras and will only buy Reolink products based on my experience.

I have had this camera mounted to a tree for almost two months. We get a rainstorm here in NW Ohio at least once a week in the late summer, early fall. It has been raining constantly for over 48 hours. I just checked in on the camera and recorded this video. You can hear the rain and see the puddles. The Camera is rock solid. The sensitivity for the PIR is great, I mean I had to turn it down below 35% due to the traffic on the road 25' away. It works Perfectly.
I love the solar panel charging. There has not been a hint of sun for almost three days and the battery is over 70% still.

I can hardly wait to see how it holds up to NW Ohio winters :-)

The setup was a breeze. You could spend two times as much and not get a camera as good as this.

Unable to connect to WiFi nor could it be reset to factory defaults. Support at Reolink and Amazon offered no helpful advice. Reolink support offered a 30 % discount on a replacement of the same model but only 5 % on a different model. I had bought two of the same model and both had the same problem. I wanted to try a different model. BTW, I have 8 devices on my WiFI and have over 50 years of computer experience so I doubt my WiFi is the problem. It appears Amazon will only allow one review on a specific model as I separately purchased two with both having problems and Amazon will not allow me to write a review on the second camera.

I am adding this several weeks after the above problem. Reolink has gone for beyond what I would expect to provide me with outstanding support and a very good value on a replacement camera security system. Thanks to their outstanding assistance I now have a six camera wired system installed and fully functional. I am very pleased with the system and Reolink's support. Therefore, based on their outstanding support I am raising the rating to five stars.

I have owned one of these since early 2020. And thought it was time to add a second. Now I have 3/4 of the rear of the house covered (odd angles).

I mounted both the camera and solar panel in under 20 minutes above 14'.

Hooks up easily too Reolink app and to our Echo Show 7".

We use 3 brands and multiple cameras around the property.

Reolink is a great company with an amazing product. Would recommend, will purchase again!

1. Night vision is spot on. Along with the PIR it catches many things dog size an up.
2. 2 way communication has scared off would-be troublemakers.
3. Solar panel works great to keep battery above 70% even in winter time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for monitoring the mailbox!

Over the past year we've twice had mail stolen from our street mounted mailbox. The house is at least 100' from the street. I earlier put in solar driveway monitors that trigger a chime in the house when anything (person, car, truck, coyote) crosses the driveway entrances. Yet I had no way of knowing the arrival of mail. I had an unused outdoor POE wireless access available that I mounted on the front. As recommended I fully charged this camera before setting it up. Once I connected it to the SSID of the outdoor AP it keeps the association. I dropped the sensitivity of the PIR sensor to 20, which seems to reduce the false positives to a manageable level. The solar panel faces due south so I seem to get sufficient sunlight to keep it the battery at 100%. I get email alerts with images whenever it detects something. The PC/Mac app is a real pain to scroll thru videos, but the iOS app is perfect to the task. After about a week of use I adjusted the camera angle down so it just captures the mailbox and street, as before I caught a good amount of an empty field across the street, and the PIR sensor would trigger all morning long as bright sunlight reflected off the grass.

This is for Argus Eco + Solar kit. Set up was poorly documented and took several trial, error, trips to web page guidance to deduce a way to get the system working. They should have a detailed instruction manual available on the web, at the least. System (camera and solar panel) arrived in good packaging, with enough hardware for a basic mount to a building or a tree. Antenna is detachable, which is good if you need to extend the antenna or put a directional antenna into service. Wifi range is limited but no worse than many devices. (I'm getting over 100 feet, less than 200) Motion detection is PIR, it does not have the ability to 'mask' areas of motion detection, which can be bad for some applications,;it will attempt to filter out 'flutter' and 'waving leaves' however. Charging by solar works well if you have full sun for 'several' hours each day. Cam should (but does not) have ability to FTP photos to an FTP site, which would not drain battery anymore than going to their own cloud (which it does). That could make it work as a WeatherUnderground cam. Too bad they didn't implement that. They could implement also in their cloud service, but do not. Software/Apps. Well designed, but poor documentation. The Reolink (PC64) software, auto-installed OVER an existing Swannview application and destroyed that setup. Uninstall did not fix it, so had to system restore my Win10 PC from an image. (Avoid this horrible aggravation by directing install to a new directory). Their PC32 software, oddly did NOT cause this havoc, and auto installed in its own directory on a Win7 PC. Reolink (PC) and Reolink (Android) also work well with older Swann DVR boxes, an undocumented, unsupported feature that is very nice. They offer a 30day cloud free, good for one camera. Not sure if it does/does not allow renewal for free. I'm using this cam in a 'critter cam' application in the wild, near a stream. I may update as that system tests out. Resolution is fairly good. See pix and short video.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really nice system for the cost
Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2019

I'm on the hunt for a perfect outdoor home security camera. It must have the following features:
- Solar powered, so I don't have to run electrical to it.
- Wireless, so I don't have to run communications cabling to it.
- Record video on motion, according to user schedule and according to user-defined screen area(s).
- Night vision.
- Block out certain areas to avoid whiteouts from street lights and other bright sources.
- Local storage.
- FTP or other means to copy captured video / photos to local network NAS.
- Documentation and applications written in well developed English, not broken English or English as a second language.
- Product development and improvements (firmware updates, feature improvements, etc.). Automatic firmware updates.

This system has been impressive from the very beginning, with extremely good, attractive packaging. The documentation is pretty good, with the major flaw being that it is spotty. This should not be a problem for people who are used to putting together and installing things, but is missing some details that would be helpful for less experienced folks.

This system hits on all my requirements except one or two. While it records video to a local microSD card, I cannot find a way to have video and/or images automatically transfer to a storage device (NAS) on my network. Also, I can't find a way to limit motion detection to just certain areas on the video image.

There are applications available for both smartphone and PC/MAC. I'm using Android phone and Windows laptop which are both adequate but lacking in full functionality. There are some operations you have to use a smartphone, and which are not available in the Windows client.

Videos come through very clear and reasonably accurate,

But my overall experience is that I'm impressed this is as robust and well put together for the cost. You really get a pretty good product for your money. This is not a cheaply made device someone is selling with bare functionality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works on old-school DSL, and cheap prepaid smartphone. Auto-reconnects after power outage.
Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2021

This is our first wireless WIFI surveillance camera and was skeptical if it would work with our clunky DSL system (1.7mbps download/.7mbps upload speeds). We also use VERY cheap prepaid smartphones. So far have tested it indoors, it does work, and the picture quality is good. We can also stream to the TV and surf the Internet on a laptop simultaneously, and the camera still works on the DSL.

We also have power outages periodically, and the camera reconnects to the modem automatically after power is restored without any resets/reboot.

Read through the package startup guide which says keep the camera away from other WIFI devices. We also noticed some connectivity drop when our smartphone was near our laptop, and both were using WIFI connections.

Setup was pretty easy, although like the literature says, we had to change our modem/router security from WEP to WPA for the camera to connect. It would NOT connect on the WEP security setting.

Also noted in the literature is to place the camera at an angle for better motion detection. Apparently motion detection from someone walking directly toward the camera is not as good as someone walking from side-to-side in the camera view.

If you order a SD card for the camera, it needs to be FAT32 format; however, you can format the SD card after installing it in the camera. For instructions on how to do that, Google "Reolink format SD card" and you should see a Reolink support webpage with pretty simple instructions.

Overall, this little camera passes our tests indoors so far, so we expect it will work fairly well outdoors, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mostly a Great Home System Option
Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2021

I took a chance on this system after some serious research into this and the other options out there. Overall, I REALLY like having these cameras on my house. It provides a great solution to find out "what is happening" when I'm not around. I've got them covering the majority of my outside space, and a few inside to monitor the movements of my children in the evenings.

Again, overall, these cameras a really nice. They have a "Fluent" mode, which is a faster, low-res, low-bitrate option that loads fairly quickly over wifi and cellular networks for live viewing. They also have a "High" mode that is higher resolution, and is really clear (but takes a few extra seconds to load, and requires higher bitrates - which is not great for Cell networks).

I also have the solar panels, which are really handy. For the most part, the camera doesn't struggle to power - except this past month where it's been really overcast and rainy. That's not the fault of the Solar panel, in my opinion. Sometimes, you just don't get sun and that's the risk. The battery does drain a lot more when you increase the PIR Motion sensor, so there is a balance between Motion sensitivity and battery charging on Solar Panels. The highest motion setting seems to drain the battery faster than it is able to charge, and this sets the camera in a no-power situation, where you can't change the settings because there isn't enough power to get it on to load the settings, to change them, to lower them, to get it to stop draining the battery (first world probs), and round and round it goes.

The one thing I am critical of is the Motion Sensor. From what I can tell, PIR Motion sensor is looking for heat changes on the frame, and when it senses a significant change, it starts recording. The problem is, for outdoor cameras, in the summer, on "MED" setting (because of the battery problem mentioned), it doesn't see movement. In particular delivery guys walking up the pathway/driveway or cars pulling into the driveway (which is the primary purpose for these cameras in the positions they are in). I regularly look between recorded clips to see no cars in the driveway --> then suddenly, to my wife's car in the drive unloaded without anyone in sight. I've looked to try and fix this, but unless I set it to HIGH mode, which drains the battery too fast, it doesn't pick up the car pulling to the drive. I would much rather have a motion sensor where you can set a ZONE for any and all movement (like the old Unifi Protect system), where it sees a level of pixel changes in the Zone, and records until the motion stops for 30 seconds. This seems to be a better way to do outdoor recording. As it is right now, the PIR method catches a lot of plant movements (wind), and not a lot of people/car movements. For an outdoor application, the motion sensor, in my opinion, is non-functional. It is not even a good reactive system, as it doesn't record what happened and regularly missed major events (arrivals and departures). Also when you turn off PIR, it doesn't record anything. This is a bit odd. You would think it would record all the time - but it doesn't seem to allow recording if the PIR is deactivated.

Overall, I still like the system. It's cool to have eyes on my house when I am at work, and it works with Google Chrome for streaming and Amazon Echo Show devices! Really handy for checking on the kids upstairs while I am in the basement. 4/5 starts --> just fix the camera motion options for recording and I'll be happy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pics, solar charging great, but viewing isn't in 'real time', & discrepancies between cameras

Two important items to note - 1-don't mount the camera with the SD card port 'up'. My husband did when relocating our first camera, and it died due to moisture getting into the port. We replaced it, and have purchased a total of 4 cameras to date (initial, 1 replacement, 2 for other locations). Second - these cameras ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH 5G.

The pics are great, for both night and day. But when live viewing, there is too much of delay between "live" and what is seen. Also, there is a delay when speaking to someone seen on the camera. Neither are "real-time", by approximately 2 or 3 seconds. Also, I have 2 cameras set up and programmed exactly the same, but only one sends and email with a captured photo, along with an alert to my phone. The second sends the alert, but no email with a photo. Subjects are usually out of view before a connection is established after receiving the alert on this camera.

Otherwise, all is good. I have purchased a third camera and plan to set it up in another location outside our home. I didn't realize they were not 5G compatible until after I purchased the last camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Need second solar panel for busy view

I am really getting sick and tired of misleading advertisement on Amazon, it wastes my time! The only reason i bought this was because of "The rechargeable battery camera can run 24/7, 365 days a year " line on the sales page. Which implies that i can record 24/7 without needing to have a wire power cable, that was the whole reason for purchasing this camera. But upon installation, there is no option to record 24/7 only to record when motion is triggered... motion triggered recording has loads of issues that is not what i intended to purchase... The camera itself is of good quality and solar panel also, looks nice, but the function of it is not what is advertised.

UPDATE: so i increase review to 4 stars, i ordered second solar panel and a wire to connect the two panel wires that join into one usb wire for the camera. I observed a few days, it has been cloudy and yet it is charging properly with two solar panels. The camera is good, decent construction, has been working at a good distance from the house and adding a second solar panel (although they said they do not recommend on doing it) solved my issue. So other than the fact that it is motion (or remotely) activated, it is a good product for NON BUSY areas. If you aim it to a street, make sure to get second solar panel like i did.

Good camera, the software could be better. The camera produces nice clear images and was easy to install. I especially like the solar panel that keeps this camera charged without having to plug the camera into an outlet. We have a camera set up on our front porch and has a great view area. The camera is a bit weird as it does a better job of capturing us leaving the house than it does coming home, I was expecting it to be the other way around. The camera has a clear view of our driveway and cars, which is about 15 foot away from the camera, and when moving around the cars, the camera does not pick up the motion, even when adjusting the sensitivity. Currently using the app, which is not great and is slightly difficult and cumbersome to use, but hopeful that this will improve with app updates. They offer free cloud storage for 1gb storage and a single camera in use, which I do not know if you have to pay after the first month, that is not clear as there is renew button. You can set the record time of the videos after a detection, but doesn't seem to work as advertised. Currently, have the time to record set to 15 seconds, but am only getting 5-second playback clips. There is two-way audio which is a great feature but the sound quality is not the best. I have to speak directly into the speaker at super close range for it to be audible through the camera, and after a few seconds get echoes and feedback through the camera. Overall, not a bad camera, especially for the price. Would consider purchasing another.

I have this camera installed under the eve of my roof overlooking the driveway. The camera came with a nice extra long cord so I was able to mount the solar panel on the side in direct sunlight. Now for the thing that I do not like: due to the fact that this camera is considered a battery-powered camera, I was not able to use it with my existing monitoring software, I have to use the Reolink application that has a few overall quirks including randomly not able to connect to the camera the first time, or in the case of a few days ago, my system froze and I was forced to turn off the computer without a proper shutdown, and upon reboot, the Reolink Client had 'lost' the camera, and when I attempted to re-add it, it prompted me for a password that I had no memory of ever setting up and it would not accept any of the passwords that I would have used. I reached out to support via email and they provided me a link to their website that showed me how to reset the camera using the Android app, and upon doing so I was able to regain access via the client software. The other 'feature' of this camera that I do not like is the built-in time limit in the client, where it is supposed to prevent the battery from running down and it will automatically disconnect after it prompts you (do you wish to keep viewing or something to that effect). I live in Florida, we have plenty of sunlight and the camera battery is always fully charged, but that is a feature that cannot be modified.

I have a perhaps different problem from most users. I must mount my camera on a tree facing my house and the tree is not that thick. I also want constant power using solar panel. I tried a couple other cameras but their mount looks flimsy and they most likely will wear down over times. This Reolink has the best sturdy mounting solution for getting the camera on my tree with a strap. The strap was white but darker less visible black color should be a better design choice. I tested the motion detect and it looked great in the trial run capturing people going in and out of my house. The antenna did get in the way of positioning the camera when I rotated but it was not a deal breaker. But when I finally tried to link Alexa to this camera, it did not work. I got on the phone with Amazon spending like two hours on and off, disabling and enabling Reolink Smart Home feature, rebooting, deleting and adding the camera back. Everything failed to enable Alexa. Unfortunately Alexa enabled camera is important to my household, I returned the camera because it became difficult to try this camera more in colder outdoor temperature. I did not contact Reolink support but this looked like a firmware issue. Wifi was not the issue as I got good video feed and motion detect. This camera could have firmware dated back to early 2020 because the manual was dated April 2020. However I did not observe any automatic firmware update when working with this camera.

First of all installation: The instructions that come with the camera are not complete. It takes some basic know-how and experimentation to install. It is not a 30 minute job. Don't plan on calling the company for help. Support is via email only. My understanding is that they don't speak English well which may be the reason the instructions were incomplete and not clear. Also, even though our internet is 2.4 or 5, it took me many tries to get the internet to recognize the camera. The internet provider had to initiate a special setting to get their system to allow the 2.4, but even then, it took many tries. Total time for installation and internet set up was probably 2 hours or more.

Once set up: The picture is fairly good. While the camera supposedly will send email alerts, neither my internet provider nor Gmail accepts the email. I'm told that it is coming from an insecure device. When I try to follow instructions on how to get them to accept the email (provide an app password), I'm told click on A then B then C. Only there is no C anywhere. Maybe I'm just not computer literate enough to get it done, but it shouldn't require rocket science to get the camera to work as advertised.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works as described.

I had to upgrade my router to get this camera a good wifi signal. Not really the cameras fault. It does the job day and night. Very clear video in the day and good enough video at night. There are some little things that bother me. The battery history in the software is less than informative. Mine always says 100% but yet some days the bar graph indicates I used more battery than I should...I think...but I don't know because it always reads 100%! It would be nice if you could copy the video clips off the sd card to your computer. Opposed to pulling the sd card out of the camera. The problem is if some one steals the camera they have the video too! Outside of that I will probably buy another for the other end of the house unless I can find one that allows me to grab clips from the sd card or may feed the clips to an ftp server.

At first it was terrible, lots of issues connecting and I was completely unable to watch videos in either quality (it records 2 all the time). It turns out that my main issue was an older Sandisk SD card. I replaced it with a 64GB extreme pro and all of those issues are gone. With clear mode I can easily recognize specific people and make out license plates at a reasonable distance.

I’m using them in a remote location with no internet. To set up the cameras I first connect them to my real WiFi and then after they’re updated I move them to an SSID on an old AP that I had laying around. Then when they’re mounted I just power up the AP in a vehicle and drive to where the cameras are and I’m able to view them and download from the phone app.

I dropped 1 star because the windows app will not work without internet, at least the phone app does.

This camera and solar panel are wonderful. The solar panel charges very well even on a gloomy day and in partial sunlight. The video quality of the camera is great as well. There are a few things that could use some improvement. Instructions are not as user friendly as you would think. Connecting the camera to the app was a breeze. Just have to make sure your phone is on the same 2.4ghz network you want the camera on. The desktop client is a little more complicated to add the cameras and there really is no good guide from reolink on how to setup or use the desktop client. UPDATE: You can mask areas from the mobile app using "Privacy Mask" under display settings. I have done this and hopefully will get false alarms now, and have better battery life. Depending on your application it can make the location/position of the camera a little complicated. It is also not mentioned that the free cloud storage is only 7 day storage, and for only 1 camera. So I highly recommend going with the SD card. If your looking for a high quality resolution, low maintenance security camera at an affordable price this is a great buy. Just be sure to take the time to figure everything out and be patient.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Porch Pirate of Potrero Hill Can’t Believe It Came to This
Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2020

I live in the neighborhood featured in the Atlantic Magazine story "The Porch Pirate of Potrero Hill Can’t Believe It Came to This". Property crime continues to skyrocket with forced entry now becoming common place.

After the second forced entry in two months we've experimented with several camera combinations. This is a good camera, but to be honest we replaced this camera with a Reolink 5mp, vandal proof dome camera which is arguably the best 5mp camera for its price point. Reolink gave us a camera exchange a few days after the return period had expired, so Reolink really stands behind their products. One thing potential customers should know, is that the only support contact is through email: I could not find a phone or chat service number. Email is my preferred channel for support, but it may be difficult to resolve some technical issues. Fortunately set-up is plug and play. Support always responds with 24 hours, if not faster. When you do request support, it seems to go immediately to a top tier technician.

This Argus Eco+Solar Panel is especially easy to install because it doesn’t require LAN or power cabling. The battery stays charged by the solar panel when the camera is set to moderate resolution and short, motion triggered recordings. My residence faces a high traffic city street which constantly triggered the camera. The camera uses an IR trigger. My recommendation is to use a different camera for street facing installations – one that isn’t solely triggered by IR. The other thing to be aware off is the direction of the solar panel. You will probably buy this for installation convenience and want to mount the solar panel close to the camera. Our camera location faces the east which receives direct sunlight from morning until noon, and this limits how high the recording time and resolution can be set.

We’ve now switched to the Reolink 5mp camera. This camera has much more capability: it can be set up with specific areas that trigger recording when pixels change. We still have false triggers when the wind blows plants and shadow changes near the camera, but far less false triggers than with IR sensors.

The most important upgrade is 5mp resolution. The last forced entry we were able to capture detailed profiles of the intruder. He had a hood pulled over his face and intentionally turned sideways as he approached our building. With anything less than 5mp, we would not have captured a useful facial image.

Another thing we learned is that the camera needs to be at eye level to capture useful facial images. Reolink’s vandal proof dome cameras can be installed at eye level without worrying that an intruder will disable the camera. The infrared lights are very visible at night which makes the camera very conspicuous; however, experienced criminals will find all but the least visible camera installations. Our intruder is not James Bond, but he is skilled.

Let's start with the pros:
-good quality picture from SD cards
-motion detection is good
-not oversized for having its own battery
-pretty easy sync up
-Does pretty well in weather

Cons:
-if mounted to a wall you can not fully turn the camera to the right to have it face the left due to the antenna is in the way
-no SD card included
-"poor connection" to wifi even if it is right next to the router = slow notifications and can't view high resolution over the phone easily
-you need to fine tune motion detection to not pickup leaves and not miss any intruder or issue

Recommendations:
-they need to address poor connection issue
-they need to relocate antenna (probably non functioning due to poor connection anyway)
-not fully sealed, 1 of 6 cameras did have water intrusion and cause me to loose one but will buy a replacement for it

Item arrived quickly. I already had the Reolink in side of house system. However, instructions were easy to follow. I have had operating for a week now. Operates just fine. Instead of using strap, just placed screws directly into tree. It is curious only one strap / plate is included for camera. But neither for solar panel is designed for use. As comments of others, still tweaking motion, so false returns are reduced. If memory card is installed, good possibility it will need to be formatted. However, camera internal software will do this if prompted. Last, and this might be a small thing, looking into camera, antenna is installed on right side. This location restricts movement of camera from center to right side limit. You will hit the antenna first. Would have been a better design if antenna was located at top center of back of camera. But work around is to install camera farther to right, if needed.

This is a pretty good camera for the price. Had to be right next to the router in order to set it up but it works well with the router once mounted. Also, had to remount the camera once because it was to high intially and the picture quality suffered. Both day and night picture quality is good. The alerts are a bit to sensitive but there is an adjustment for that and I may have to try several settings before I get it right. Initially there wasn't much of an alert delay but recently it's been hit and miss. I was concerned the solar panel wouldn't get enough sun but it works great so far and beats having to run electricity to the camera. Bought the Echo Show 5 because Amazon recommended buying the camera and the Echo together. Unfortunately they are not compatible so check the product details before purchasing on a recommendation.

Don’t be fooled by the price this is a decent camera. Reolink cameras have been a great addition side by side to my ring devices. They do not work as good as ring but they do the job, they send me my notifications and record my footage with the added benefit of having micro sd cards to store the motion clips. One sad element is I cannot get them to connect to my smart home even though my account is linked. Second issue is they can be quite difficult to set up because they don’t always want to connect to the internet. If purchasing these cameras it is best to spend a little extra to get the solar panel because I have not had to charge the one with the solar panel since buying but the one without becomes a hassle to keep charged have to unscrew and connect to a charger roughly once a month. The quality is also concerning because unscrewing the camera to charge is already starting to strip the thread which means I might have to find an alternative to mounting if it no longer works. For the price though these cameras at least do what they are supposed to which is give you notifications of motion and provide access to live footage.

I really do like this camera, however, it falls short in primary needs. Here are my Pros and Cons:

Pros:
1.) Solar - awesome - the only wire is to the solar panel
2.) Portable - you can put this almost anywhere you have access to Wi-Fi
3.) Great picture quality - this is a big plus
4.) Notifications are only a couple seconds off following motion - wish this was faster though
5.) Mounting is easy - even comes with a paper template so you can pre-drill your location
6.) Talk is clear
7.) Setup is super easy - scan the SN, then scan the QR code with your phone, and it jumps on your Wi-Fi
8.) Comes with everything you need to set it up, even a tree strap if that's where you want it
9.) Records and plays back the daily motion alert videos - as long as it catches the movement in time
10.) Lots of settings for this unit, even a time lapse setting - which is great
11.) You can even set it up to send you emails when motion is detected - but do you really want that many more email every time a bug crosses the camera's field of view? Also, they want your email password when you set it up. You're essentially giving the APP, access to your email and password - consider that to be a security risk - so this can be a Con, unless you set up a separate email account you can use just for this - think it over.

Cons:
1.) Night vision is very weak - only a few feet, unless a light is on anywhere in the frame - not good
2.) Daytime sensitivity distance for motion is limited to only about 20' - unless it's the size of a garbage truck
3.) Notifications should be faster - by the time I get notified, the person or object is out of frame - and the playback also misses whatever triggered it
4.) A lot of false alarms, OR, it's notifying me and recording AFTERWARDS - late=useless - there's a setting option to reduce false alarms, and even when set to ON, I still get them
5.) Anywhere other than within my own Wi-Fi radius, it FAILS to connect to the camera - this is the deal breaker for me. Great if I'm at home, but worthless if I'm not - defeats the entire reason for having this unit. This could be my cellular carrier's issue, but I have no problems with any other remote function to my house from my phone, just this.
6.) Video is choppy

In summary: good camera, easy install, great picture, weak night vision, short detection distance,
fails to connect outside of local Wi-Fi range

I'd buy another one, and would toss on a couple extra review stars if the remote access worked..........

** Update** Adding a star (total of 3 now), due to the support line. They are very attentive to trying to resolve issues. The problem with my remote access, is with the firewall settings on the router. It has to be set to OFF - NO firewall. This is the only unit that seems to be blocked by a firewall, and I'm not going to disable mine just for this. Still, they communicate via email to get your issues resolved, so I'd say customer service is very good.

I've had this camera for about a month now. Just today the wifi suddenly stopped working. After doing a series of tests, resetting the camera to factory defaults, re-connecting to wifi (two times-- once with the camera outside and another time inside next to my router), the camera would simply not connect to my network. We actually had an intense electrical storm VERY close to the house, so I'm pondering whether or not that actually screwed with the camera's wifi transmitter. Bought one more to give it the benefit of the doubt.

As far as picture quality goes, it looks fantastic. App is simple enough to set up and use, and it works very nicely with Alexa. The only problem I have with this camera really is the motion detection is really delayed. Other than that, I do in fact have questions about how weather proof it is. The main reason why I wanted to give it another try with a replacement camera is because that lightning storm we had yesterday was unusually close to the house. The only thing it seemed to tamper with was the wifi connection, the camera still powers on and talks and everything. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the new unit.

Update. I have noticed I have been having a hard time connecting with both of my cameras. Both of them take multiple attempts...usually around 5 to connect to the live feed. I have a wifi extender not far from the camera soI know signal strength is not an issue. They worked great since I got them but have been noticing this issue.

I really hope that it does not continue because I really liked these cameras. I have till the end of January to return them. If it keeps it up they are going back.

Bought this after having my truck broken intom didn't want to have to run wires and have to charge batteries all the time. So far it seems to work good. It's not great but seems to do the job.

The solar panel keeps the camera at 100% most of the time it seems. We got quite a bit of rain lately and the camera and panel seemed to hold up fine.

I wish they would add motion zones to the software like some of the bigger brands. That would help keep false motion alerts. I have one at my house and at a rental...both are pointed toward street and constantly have the motion go off when a car goes by. The rental camera is down to about 25% sensitivity to keep the motion alerts down. I'm hoping it doesn't make it miss aperson if they were to come to the house. The one on my house is set around 55% but I think I need to adjust it down a little more.

I have recommended this camera to a friend due to the price, the included solar panel and due to the fact it seems to work pretty good over all. Picks up motion quickly, has a short 1-2 second delay before recording and seems to send alerts pretty quickly. I plan on purchasing more in the future.

Mounted on a tree 75ft from my indoor router and excellent signal. Solar charger keeps device at 100% charge - even with up to 50 events per day! Waterproof for me too.
Problem is with sensitivity. Camera can pick up movement over 100 feet away, and tree shadows triggering recording, but if sensitivity is reduced, time until recording begins is extended, and sometimes things like license plates can be lost. Have to choose between too many event triggers or too long delay until recording begins - this is a problem.
I think all of these cameras may have this "failure", and IMO, maybe one could choose between focal length or duration of movement when limiting sensitivity. I just went back to high sensitivity to capture important details by getting earlier triggering of recording (and dealing with excess recordings).
I would still buy this camera again, and will probably add another in the near future. Good purchase!

UPDATE: It is now New Years 2022 and my camera has gotten moisture in it. Contacted Reolink for RMA, and have received at least 4 suggestions on how to salvage it. Took so long that it finally dried out!

I really want this system to work, but it is just not good enough. Most of the time, the recordings don't play until around an hour or more from the event. Wireless range is marginal, and it doesn't maintain connection consistently. IMO, you can do better for the same or less money. Too much work for what it costs.

Put two of these on my house over looking my goat pen and chicken pen. Setup was relatively easy. Installation was easy.
Picture is pretty good close to camera. Out to 50', not so much. Motion detection is really strange. I walked from under a camera out to the chicken coop and back. I got two picture alerts. One with just the yard and one with me coming back. Yet, with the wind blowing, I got 30 pictures of, I guess, a tree blowing 50' away.
Neighbors came over to feed the chickens and gather eggs while we were away. And, let their kids play with the goats. No motion alerts with 4 people in the backyard.

Wanted to like this camera and it had all the features I was looking for....but....set-up was not easy at all, and the operation is hit and miss. The instructions on the app and printed materials seem simple enough until you can't find out why the camera is not configuring itself, finding your network or recognizing the QR code on the camera body so you can start using it. It took many attempts to get the camera functioning. Then try inserting an SD memory card...took 20 minutes to find a way for it to accept it in the slot properly. Before I even got things working I called Amazon for help, but they couldn't do anything but send a replacement camera. I accepted the offer just in case I just had a lemon, but it was the same hassles and performance with the second unit.

Once you're though all the frustration of set up and it's actually running, just try checking Playback of recorded test videos - they can't find the network again...watching the timer spin and spin saying it's not connected just after it has been connected...and it's not because the camera is too far from the router...one of my cameras is about 5 feet away, the other about 50 and they both lag and fail to find the network repeatedly. The jury is out on whether they actually record anything moving, day or night...several of my tests have been hit and miss with recording - I think maybe they keep disconnecting when I'm not watching, so that would make them really useless. There are settings for motion sensitivity, but so far they've failed to make any difference. On the upside, the solar panels seem to work, the picture quality is fine when it's working and the devices seem to have a good exterior build-quality. If I am missing something about how to set up and operate these things, then I'd love to speak to the manufacturer, but they don't seem to do phone customer service.

3.0 out of 5 stars Free 7-day cloud storage for ONE camera only

Nice little cameras. Good quality. That being said, the free 7-day cloud storage only applies to ONE camera. No where in the Amazon posting says that. Not only must you renew the free 7-day cloud plan every 30 days, it’s only good for one camera. So if you buy more than one camera you have to either subscribe to a higher tier plan or have a different account for each camera, which sounds like a pain in the butt. You’d have to sign out of one camera and sign back on to the other in order to check videos on each camera or have one camera connected to your phone and the other camera connected to another household member’s phone. This should be spelled out in the information as well as the cost of the higher tiered plan. You can put an sd card in the camera, which works fine, but if someone steals the camera, the card goes with it and so does your videos and the evidence of who did it. Would have been 5-stars if this wasn’t an issue.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2020

I have bought other non-battery powered Reolink cameras and I consider those great cameras. This camera is good, but lacks a couple key features (to me) that are in the other cameras.
1. No ability to mask motion area. If you have the camera outside and you are pointing at trees - be ready for alot of motion captures when the wind blows. My other cameras allow me to ignore those areas of the field of view that I dont want to trigger the alarm.
2. No ability to save an image. My other cameras have the ability to save a snapshot of the video triggered by the motion detection. I have a raspberry pi where I save all the snapshots of my other cameras, so I miss not having those snapshots available.
3. I have no problems accessing my other cameras remotely when I am not on my wireless network - but I do have trouble connecting to this camera remotely. I have only been able to connect to this camera when I am on the same wifi. Now I havent tried hard to fix the issue, so it may just be something I am missing. But my other Reoling cameras connected seamlessly and easy when I am away from home.

The solar panel works just fine - I have had no problem losing power. The night vision is excellent - good for capturing all sorts of nighttime critters. I do have issues losing wireless connection - the wireless range is shorter than I would expect, but maybe that's a problem with my wireless and not the camera.

In summary - if you dont mind not having the motion masking, or the ability to save a snapshot - I would recommend this camera. I have never sent any of my videos to the cloud - the onboard recording for the Reolinks work great and are easily accessible via the desktop or phone app. Reolink makes great cameras (especially the rlc-410 series), just maybe not this one..

I wish I could recommend this more, it’s not a bad camera, but it could be better. It definitely has its use, but if you can get power to your camera, it’s better than going battery.

Pro:
-Super quick and easy install without needing power.
- Easy setup
- Battery life not an issue (see cons for the follow up on this)

Cons:
This camera, like all battery operated cameras that I tested as one giant flaw. The camera is essentially off until it detects motion, then it clicks on, then it starts recording. By the time it actually starts recording, whatever you’re trying to capture is already 3/4 of the way across the frame and you can’t really tell what it was to begin with. Battery operated cameras all seem more heavily focus on saving battery life than actually recording anything. These did outperform the Arlo cameras I tested, but still not great as far as actually capturing video goes. Perhaps if you have something slow moving and it’s going to be moving directly at the camera at the entire time, then this will work fine.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs improvement in several areas
Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2020

Motion sensor response is weak even on it's highest setting and misses obvious movements across the field of view of the camera.

Camera will only save a maximum of 30 seconds of video.

The live view is high resolution but the saved videos are poor, maybe only 360p.

Camera mounting system seems a little flmsy and the range of movement on the swivel mount is limited. Camera antenna hits and limits movement of the tightening flange.

App software is clunky and not easy to navigate, client software is worse. Both seem very unsophisticated in their menu structure.

I will probably take the camera down and send it back. The 5mpx Reolink unit, which I have, is a much better camera but does not work off the solar panel.

Overall it's not a bad camera. Quick and easy setup. Good quality resolution...decent night vision. HOWEVER, it's an entry level camera for those on a budget. I bought 3 of these in 2020...they all died a week ago. Simply died. Impossible to reconnect them to ANY network. Spent the last week dealing with support from china...no help at all. Seems they can't understand that the cameras are dead, and that no amount of rescanning the QRS codes...hard resets...cleaning the lenses are not going to recusitate them.

A 2 year lifespan isn't bad for this price of a camera.

It was easy to set up and has stayed charged via the solar panel. Works pretty well with the app. The motion sensor is meh. It catches every single car that goes by, but doesn’t catch a person walking up to my door. If it catches them at all it’s not until after they’ve come up and they’re walking away. I’ve worked with the sensitivity and all that and can’t get it to do better. I don’t hate it, don’t love it.

Also the free cloud service they offer for one device expires every month and you have to manually renew it. Who can remember to do that every month?

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Camera, Recording Delays
Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2020

Pros:
Good picture quality
Battery charges quickly and solar panel only needs direct sunlight for a few hours
Video retrieval from device is easy to do and if you just have one the online account through Reolink stores it in the cloud.
Good night vision

CONS:
If it's cloudy and rainy for a couple days it WILL go dead.
If you leave default sensitivity, sound recording on, etc, it will go dead pretty quick
App doesn't close like it says it does when exiting on your phone, thus, keeping the camera active and it will go dead.
The big one... There is a motion activity detection delay that I suppose is the camera coming out of hibernation that causes you to lose at least bare minimum, the first 10-15 seconds of video... So many times, someone's already on your front porch before it even begins recording.

Works fine with Reolink app. Does NOT work with Alexa (unless you own an Echo Show?). I purchased a Reolink Argus Eco from Amazon because it had solar panel power and looked like Reolink would link and work with Alexa like Cloud Cam cameras do (I have two), allowing me to view it on my Amazon enabled iPhone, iPad, or Amazon Firestick enabled TV. It doesn’t work with any of these.

Set up looks fine until you get to find a new device… And it never does find your camera. Even when you install the Reolink Smart Home app as instructed. I had a long phone discussion with Amazon tech-support today and found out that advertising that it “works with Alexa” is misleading. It will not work with your Alexa app or your Firestick, even though Alexa will link to Reolink, it won’t find your camera except on an Echo Show device. (According to Amazon’s tech support) I’m not buying a video screen dedicated to this single camera. I can view it on any device I already own using the Reolink app, but it does NOT work with Alexa, except if viewed from an Echo View device (According to Amazon tech support, but not confirmed). I’m not going to run out and buy another device just to view one camera.

Alexa does NOT play nicely with this camera.

I think they didn't want me to review their product because one camera works great and the other one started out not accepting the SD card and so I just use it to watch the front yard area. However the solar battery doesn't keep the camera charged. Since they sent both together, I can't send back just one camera.
Additionally, I've owned these camera's over a couple years and the working one is still doing great but without the perks offered (paying) the record time is too short to identify anyone if you don't know them. Also it will eventually memorize certain movements that even if the neighbor did try to do something to the dog it wouldn't come out on the camera.

The camera quality is great, the battery life and solar panel just don’t cut it. I’m in the HI DESERT IN CA, where there is strong, constant sunlight for 10-12 hours a day, and despite being in direct sunlight the entire time the sun is out, that’s not enough to keep the battery charged. I fully charged the battery by plugging it in to the wall, prior to depending on the sunlight for maintenance, so it had a full 100% charge prior to connecting to solar panel. The battery dies by 4 or 5 pm, and nope - not recording all day. I have it set to record on motion.

Easy to install and set up. Picture and video quality is amazing. Night vision is also very clear. The replay option is an excellent feature (note you have to purchase a SD card to use this feature).

Motion detection sometimes lag and sometimes is over sensitive to where a tree blowing in the wind will sound an alarm.

Each time I sinc the time on the camera with my local time it keeps on going back to the manufacturers time, which is two hours ahead.

Overall I would recommend if you're looking for great video quality and no monthly subscriptions fee.

I had high hopes for this unit. After initial installation, it connected and recorded very well. The problem with it is two fold. There is no adjustment for motion zones so trees and shadows keep it recording almost constantly outdoors. Second, the solar panel is inadequate to keep up with the battery drain and so the unit goes dead after a few days of use.
If you shut off the motion detection, perhaps the solar panel could keep up with the battery drain. This would defeat the whole purpose of the camera in the first place.
In all, if they offered a larger solar panel and improved the motion detection in the software, this would be a great camera. As it is, I am forced to return it.

REOLINK Argus Eco+Solar Panel Outdoor Solar Battery Powered Security Camera System, 1080p HD Wirefree Waterproof 2-Way Audio Night Vision with PIR Motion Sensor, SD Socket and Cloud Service

I use Blue iris for the IP cameras-I have a mix of wireless and wired IP cameras. Those camera ranges from $1400 dollars down to $24!!? I was interested in this one mainly for the solar flexiblity/no power need. (no hope now)
I am always on the lookout for new styles and function-I guess i am a hobbyist. The specs claim good things but so far not delivering on promises- I had higher hopes for it-Slightly misleading statements-

Quote: "Truly Wireless Security Camera System: The battery camera can run 24/7, 365 days a year with eco-friendly Reolink solar panel for non-stop power. Reliable 2.4G wifi connection and solar power offer wireless freedom(not support 5GHz WiFi). Easy to set up on the Reolink App by following the voice instructions. Place the solar powered security system anywhere you want surveillance."

SO this leads me to believe that I can Stream this camera 24/7-like the normal $45 AC camera unit!?!! WRONG !!! this camera is NOT NOT made to continual streaming- so it CAN NOT run 24/7!!! it made to wake up and when motion is detected, or when manually accessed!?!!

Setup- I use the blue iris software. The camera DOES NOT have a standard GUI that can be accessed through chrome!!?? I could detect the camera thru ONVIF - I detect the ONVIF stream-but could not decode video from it!?! So this is NOT a TRUE IP camera!?! The IP also could NOT be changed!!!! SO for a true monitoring setup not usable. This seems to be another low quality "locked down" to a Chinese server unit.-Hey to can still do this -but give me the option to change IP and route the camera data to where I need it!?!!

Fit and Finish- rated well.. The mount is decent with a plastic mounting base- its acceptable.
The lan "cover" which is pretty common designed part used in a LOT of cameras .

I currently gave it 1 star. This camera does NOT have a web gui!! (or one I can find) I can NOT set up my own IP -turn on the wireless function and so on!?! - The fact that I can NOT use this as a 24/7 streaming unit off solar/battery -truly Only can ACCESS camera 24/7 and or wait for the camera to detect motion (24/7) then send it to an unknown server to be then to be "notified?!?!?" -Really?!! - the unit is worthless for my application ( or any professional(ish) setup_!?!!

Summary- Dissappoinded in a "brand" that I normally recommend.

I could really love this camera if I could get it to work with my PC. No direct pick up on viewing when someone is walking directly towards the camera, you have to be going across the viewing area for the camera to capture you. But my biggest problem is I have tried everything possible and used all the antidotes that reolink suggests to have it connected to my PC, therefore I have to return it because that was one of the biggest reasons of having it.

I wanted the cameras connected to my PC. I even tried entering the UID, firewall disabling, changing passwords, just about everything and nothing seems to work it just keeps giving me errors. I've even set every password both on The Reolink and on my PC to the same exact thing and it still does not work. Such a shame, because I really wanted these cameras and it plan to purchase more.

You get what you pay for, I suppose. I have two of these at the moment. Picture quality of one is good, the other was defective and I'm in the midst of the replacement process right now. The app as well as the client for my computer fails to connect to the cameras as often as not, despite the cameras being close to WiFi (I've tested my wireless network and it's in top shape). I often have to force-close the app or client and relaunch to get a live view..... so whatever or whomever triggered the camera is long gone by the time it shows a live picture. SO, I try to view the recorded data only to find "failure to load"..... repeat two or three times and maybe it works. Only reason I'm not giving up and returning the whole thing is 1) I hope they'll fix these issues so I can come back and revise my review, and 2) there really isn't a competitor in the same price point.

We ordered this camera for our front porch. Installation, hookup and setup was a breeze. The app on our iPhone notified us of any movement and we could immediately check it out in real time or go back in time using a micro sd card in the camera. We ordered more cameras it worked so well. Then shy of a year old, it quit charging as did one of our others that we ordered direct from Reolink. Hubby climbed up to check it out and the plug from the solar charger going into the camera just disintegrated when he touched it. The other camera (less than 6 months old) did the exact same thing. I cannot get anyone at Reolink to answer the phone nor an email regarding a fix for the 2 cameras. Our third camera is still working, but I'm willing to bet it will break as well if we have to touch it. Odd thing is the two that broke were somewhat protected from the weather as they were under the front porch and under the overhang of the house. The 3rd camera is out in the elements. Save your money. Buy an American made camera. This one won't last. :(

Pros:
- Hardware has held up over time (both the camera itself and the solar panel connection)
- This was relatively cheap compared to what's out there (but as you can see from the cons, you get what you pay for).

Cons:
- Delay in recording? Or poor motion sensing? Either way, both times my car was broken into, I checked my video recordings only to find that the first recording started well into the theft (i.e. the car door was already open when the recording started).
- Even if the recording started soon enough, the night vision would've been too grainy anyway to pick up any helpful info.
- There' a built-in siren on this, which was a pleasant surprise. However, there's no way to put it on a timer, so unless you're responsible enough to turn it on every night and turn it off every morning, it pretty much goes unused. Bummer, because even though it's not the most loud siren, I feel like it would've been enough to deter the thief in both cases had it actually been enabled. I actually contacted Reolink to see if this was a feature that could be requested on their apps side (this should be a fairly straightforward change in their phone application and could be implemented with an app update), but they declined to even entertain the idea. Frustrating, because Reolink actually has another (higher end) camera model that does have this timer feature... so it's not that they can't do it, it's that they choose not to offer it as part of this (lower end) model.

Camera worked good for many months, now at about 1 year later the lens and lens cover protector has fogged up rendering the unit blind. I gently removed the front lens assembly and cleaned the fogged lens and lens cover, when I went to put it back together, the two very small red/white wires for the microphone dislodged from the printed circuit board. I have the technical skill to resolder if I knew where the leads were attached originally. I contacted ReoLink support, and asked if they could provide a schematic or where the leads for the microphone go on the PCB. They said I have voided the warranty by opening up the unit, plus they would not provide any information so I could repair. Here in the USA, Opening up item does not void the warranty. I still have many warranty months left, but was not asking for a warranty return, just the info so I could fix. There solution, buy another unit at a slight discount. I declined. I would not recommend anyone purchase this camera due to the negative experience I have had with support not providing the requested PCB attachment for the microphone or even a photo of the circuit board showing location. Also the microphone wires are about #28-32 solid and too short in length to allow for service, only if you know of this issue before opening can you be successful in cleaning the lens and lens cover. The microphone wires being solid have no flex and will break very easy. Mine had water droplets and fogging so It is not a sealed unit as advertised. Look elsewhere for you camera is my suggestion. All functions but audio work but the audio was important to me. Video is good, but no sound due to broken wires from Microphone.

It seemed to take some shots but not all. I wrote to the company and they did respond in a day and gave me a foreign tel. number that I asked for. They did write again asking me to describe the problem and offered to call me. I was so disgusted that I thought I should send it back before my 30 days were up. I used it as a wildlife camera. It did fabulous night videos and clear day shots but it was moody. I would imagine this is a good camera if you install it right in front of your door at 100% sensitivity.

Local storage, just that, local. I cannot seem to access those files. Maybe you got to get your ladder out and pull the SD out and then you can see em............but would not know because who would want to do that!
If anyone knows how to access videos on the SD I could use the help. Try getting any information of the REOlink site, good luck with that, pretty poor. But the site looks pretty and makes it seem like the cameras are supper capable with tons of awesome features. Kind a misleading.
UPDATE: So thru the online help FAQ, I found a link to a REOLINK program that will allow access to your memory card. However apparently there is an admin account with password to access the camera. Unfortunately this is something I never set up so I have no password and stuck again. Just hitting one brick wall after another with this.

The good is that the picture is very good, the solar panel does a good job of keeping the battery charged and setup was pretty straightforward.
The bad (and the deal breaker for me) is that it doesn't really work with Alexa. If by some miracle you actually get it to connect, it will only stay connected for a minute or two. The Reolink app is slightly better at connecting but as with Alexa, it only stays connected for a minute or two.
I really wanted to like this camera but I will be returning it because it's pretty much useless for anything but playback of recorded video (assuming you can ever get it to connect).

But now the camera doesn't even work. When I try to connect it won't connect when I do connect it's now showing video that's very grainy. The night vision is not good on this camera compared to others that I own.

I would have given these cameras at five star rating but they have a major flaw during very bright conditions. As you can see one of my pictures is dark and it is not because it's in night vision at night time. Look at the time stamp on your see it's during morning hours. There is a comparison between the one with the snow and one with just the grass.
Being in photography for over 40 years this is due to overexposure in the camera. I have seven of these cameras in six of them have this problem. I've contacted customer service and they don't know how to fix it so they offered me a refund a $15 refund at first then $30. I spent over $550 on these cameras.
For the money they're not bad cameras but if you have snow or have bright areas of sunshine you're going to have these problems.
I will be looking into other brands to see if they have this problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Water Resistant Outdoors

The camera worked great... until our daily afternoon thunderstorms arrived mid-summer here in Florida. Our home is seasonal for the Winter, and by the time we got back down here at the beginning of October, the camera had been dead for awhile. I took it down, removed the silicon gasket at the bottom (that protects the SD card), and water poured out! It had been hooked up to the solar panel correctly (it had been charging properly for a number of weeks prior AND the rubber-like silicon seal on the solar panel connector was tightly connected to the camera's charging port). I suspect that this is where the water forced itself in from the rain. I suggest applying additional outdoor caulking around the power connection it to completely protect it. I have another one in another state that has lasted a year (not as much rain) so these can be good cameras.

Worked great for 6 months then all of a sudden it developed a " hardware issue".. contacted customer service and was told it was faulty, and that someone would contact me via email the next day.. That never happened.. been trying to pray it will start working again for the last week but nothing.. at this point, these cameras are NOT worth the money at all. I have 2 of them and both stopped working within a week of each other. Customer service sucks and cameras suck if they only last 6 months... very disappointed, look elsewhere to buy cameras, not these from Reolink.

Update: the company contacted me to rectify the situation, sent out a new camera within days and everything seems to be working great again..

Buying just one device is probably OK; but NOT two, not three or more. You have to set up 2 account for two device or 3 account for 3 device for free basic plan that comes with purchase of camera. Even if you set it up 2 or 3 account for each camera ;you can not have access to cloud video from your cell phone for all 3 if you have 3 camera. You have to carry 3 cell phone to access 3 device's cloud video. This is non sense. Reolink apps only and only allow you to see cloud video for ONLY ONE camera for basic plan. This is absolutely NONSENSE. I bought 3 cameras only because they have free basic cloud plan. You can only watch cloud video going to their website in your cloud account; not from apps. Apps only allows one camera. You can only watch live video from cell phone for multiple camera.

I can't understand why this has to be so complicated. Why doesn't the camera just grab an IP address from the router and let me login to the IP address? Why so painful a process that requires a smartphone to do what I've been doing for years with webcams? Why make it so hard?

I gave it 2 stars rather than one because I was eventually able to get it to work.

I put this camera to view down my driveway. The location has no AC power so I used the solar panel.

The camera's picture quality in the daytime is marginal compared to my Ring floodlight camera. I still haven't got it to take a decent picture in the dark using the IR. The adjustments for fixing the camera and solar panel are poor. You tighten the finger wingnut, but the camera and solar panel are still is easily moved out of position.

On a scale of 1 to 10 this thing is a 4. You are much better off buying the Ring floodlight camera for the quality of the video and the features.

If you need to see live video right now and you need to see every second of a motion event. This is not for you.
Seems that every day presents a new mystery and technical anomaly.
If you do not mind giving them constant attention like children or pets, buy these.
I recommend buying full time powered and connected cameras.

Within two days, that one first stopped connecting to the phone app and wifi. Then, it stopped charging from the soar panel because of a defective outlet in the camera. Finally went with Argus 2 with the solar panel and have had no problems in the same amount of time. Maybe 2 will fizz out, but so far feeling really secure about it.

I wish I could give this thing less than 1 star for all the time I wasted with this total loser product. People...PLEASE read the reviews that consistently state that this thing simply CANNOT CONNECT! It mounts easy enough. And, on paper it looks like a winner. But a security camera that cannot connect so you can get an immediate live view of what's going on?!! Are you KIDDING ME?

Before i bought these 2 cameras I purchased a Blink [An Amazon Product] XT2. It's not perfect, and it clearly has its flaws, and as a result I was REALLY looking forward to getting these cameras. (I couldn't put the Reolink where I have the XT2 because there's not enough room logistically.) OH BABY was I wrong! The XT2 connects like a champ. And to be clear...my router is about TEN FEET AWAY from where I'd placed the Reolink. In two hours it connected ONE TIME! That's INSANE. I couldn't get that thing back in the box fast enough.

Along those lines, I ordered 2 more XT2s as fast as my fingers could type. Yeah, they lie when they say you get 2 years of battery life (it's more like 2 months, if that). And yeah...some of the features still have some bugs. But EVERY time I click on live view I get a LIVE VIEW, not an error message stating the connection failed. At least for the time being, I'll put up with a somewhat buggy camera that connects 100% of the time.

I had to have the UPS Store print off a label as well, bc I don't have a printer. Talk about P.I.A. JUST what I needed after 4 months of Corona Virus madness and exhaustion. An epic failure from a product on Amazon I spent over 100.00 on. Sure has been a disappointing 4 years, and a majorly awful last one to cap it off for all of us. I SO wanted this to be the real deal. Nope.
I cannot recommend this. I SURE wish I could have. I was so excited.
If somethings too good to be true, it usually is. Case in point. Go elsewhere.
Update...As you can see above, I really wanted this camera to work, so, I sent for a second. Same result. Sent back for a quick refund. Disappointing. Not sure how email 'tech support' is supposed to be a good business model. And additionally, 'tech support' should be more than asking you if you followed the instructions. There were great instructions included in the box. The packaging was really nice. The equipment SEEMED really ready to work as described. It didn't. Life doesn't go as planned these days. It didn't work for me. Maybe you'll have better results. Good luck.

I wanted a remote camera to cover my 300ft circular driveway. To make this happen I looked for a solar charging wifi camera that could fit this bill. Here are my general comments:

Pros
- easy to install/ hang
- picture is good when working

Cons
- could never get the motion sensing to work via app
- could never get the remote playback to work
- could not get the solar charging to keep up on battery usage. And this was with the panel pointed south at a 30 deg angle, 13hrs of sunlight.

Attempted to return the item. Seller is responsive but wanted me to jump through a few hoops to troubleshoot the defect. What was most concerning is that the seller wanted access to my app/camera remotely. NO THANKS! Not giving a foreign company any access to my phone/network. Basically stuck with a poorly designed item doesn't take charge enough in the middle of the summer. I can't imagine how the solar function works when there is only 6-7 hours of light per day.

1-23-20 upate: Returning Camera as it has been getting worse recording and now has pixulation. I must say Customer Service has tried to help but I believe the camera is defective.

The camera is slow to record motion and in some cases misses it completely from certain directions. Activity in exactly the same conditions will sometimes record but only after @10 seconds of movement. Not very reliable. I also cannot get the Laptop software to open up the camera anymore (initially it did now it won't, I have to use the cell app exclusively.
After working with this camera for a month, it is working better BUT I am having one problem that perplexes me. Today I backed out of my garage to the road and it did not film it. I passed through the area that has been recording so that was a surprise. When I returned it recorded that where I passed through the same area. How can this be fixed? It means that activity can be happening and not being recorded so this camera isn't reliable?

I charged the camera and set about getting it to connect to my network. I tried to use my Android phone. It is a very tedious business to use QR codes to enter the SSID and WPA code for a WiFi network. It sucks.

The device was finally on the network (I could ping it having deduced it's ip address). I can't access and set up the camera using it's ip address which is really stupid. The MAC address of the camera is NOT printed on the camera so you can't be sure which physical device it is.

From Reolink:
Reolink cameras which cannot be accessed via web browser Argus; Argus 2; Argus Eco; Argus Pro; Argus PT; Argus 3; Reolink Go; Reolink Go PT; Reolink Keen; B400; B800; D400; D800; E1; E1 Pro; Reolink Lumus; RLC-211W; RLC-210W

For Android the manual says to obtain a "Live View" I should go to the "Device Settings" menu and select "Access the Live View" -- there is no menu item named that !

If you want to setup this camera only on a PC using you are still REQUIRED to set it up in the Reolink application on a phone first. You run the Reolink software and scan the QR code on the phone then use the phone to generate a QR code for the camera to scan which should let you configure the camera. What a mess. Also, the app software won't scan the QR code on the camera.

Per the instructions it can not be setup without using another device. I've already got the Reolink software setup and I just wanted to add an additional camera. That can't be done without using other devices. No way to setup the camera.

After spending about 2 hours and countless emails back and forth with the selling company that it would not connect with our wifi provider. Put a call in with Amazon who asked "who is your internet provider?" When I said Optimum the lady replied oh I am so sorry but the unit does not work with Optimum! You would think that this should be clearly stated when the unit is offered for sale? Even the selling company Reolink did not ask that question. Needless to say the unit is being returned to Amazon. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not Suitable For Outdoor Use

I really wanted these to be better than my experience. I purchased 2 of these for exterior monitoring. The first one collected moisture after a couple months of use and became unusable (this camera was replaced by Reolink). The second one collected moisture after almost a year and became unusable (photo showing the moisture). Both were sealed using the seals provided and duct tape for added protection.

I had hoped that an upgraded model would be better and bought 2 of the upgraded Reolink models after the first failure, thinking it was just a fluke failure. The upgraded ones had very spotty wireless capability with common outages, as did the first 2 making all 4 of them fairly unreliable as a system.

My experience with the Reolink camera system in general has been very disappointing. I have since removed and replaced all 4 cameras with ones from another manufacturer (effectively replacing the whole system). The alternate cameras and system have been a pleasure to install and have not had any issues with them, including wireless connectivity.

I have two of these cameras, one at the front and one at the back since early august 2019 and I can testify that buying these were definitely a mixed bag! On cloudy days when the sun's not at peak brightness, forget it, camera's run out of juice very quickly, and if you need to playback videos to see who was out front or back, from yesterday or last night, no luck.
Also at night also there are problems....I mean i truly didn't expect much for the price, but thing is, sometimes they won't even kick into infrared mode, you have to go and flip a light on the thing to try and trigger it into submission. And also if you leave a light on, or it is close to an outdoor light, all is shows is fog, infrared or no!
From day one the app never worked on my computer, I have to operate it from my tablet or phone only to get it to work.
And if somethings happening out front, and you have to set it to record manually really fast, well the buttons are so small and fragile unless you tap it just right anything can happen. I AM impressed that the solar panels lasted almost two years as frail and cheap as they look. And the concept is good alright. But with the things i just mentioned, it isn't worth it.
I actually had to get motion detectors all around the home, because several visitors were never recorded coming and going, I'd check the camera log, and it just doesn't record all movement day or night, and I am not sure I believe the specs given about this...
Most important, if i don't grab a real camera and take a pic of something amuck security wise, well I'm afraid it would never be good enough to identify anyone anyway. We have trouble with dogs, vicious ones sometimes that get these cameras and come sometimes upon our porch. You know what? would've even paid twice the price if both the camera stills and videos were plain and focusable. One feature i do like is the ability to quickly process and send said videos or captures to anywhere via net. But alas, when i get them on the computer, hoping to see them clearly, no luck. Not high definition enough to identify anything but the large primary shapes. Impressive, but not practical or effective performance-wise is what I say.
PS: Also, the mechanism also needs to swivel better from the wall fastener, It is limited in movement, and either too loose or too tight for good adjustment. It needs to move like Mr. Beams spotlight, I have several of those both for inside and out, And they have the right joint needed for positioning. SO EASY TO ADJUST THOSE! I think these are somewhat fickle and you have to take care that you mount them right, so you can adjust it. But even then it is somewhat stiff and fragile. Good luck Oh Mighty Seekers of Security!

I do not know if these cameras work for anyone else, but after 6 weeks and a $300 investment for 3 of them, they don't work for me. Set up is a mystery. Instructions are poor, and if you contact Reolink for support, they give you links and arcane instructions. After taking about 2 days to figure out how to set them up the first time, I succeeded. Then, I tried to mount them. When mounted on a vertical surface, the back of the camera and mount interfere with each other when positioning the camera. You must mount them on a horizontal surface (under an eave/soffit) to get full positioning range. One of the camera became un-operational after about 3 weeks. I had to re-set my wi-fi (not related to reolink) and then had to re-set up the cameras. They will not connect to the new wi-fi. Maybe you are more clever than I am and can make these things work. I suggest you avoid them and choose another more reliable system with a less arcane setup. I'd give these no stars if I could.

THEY DO NOT RECORD WHEN NEEDED. the back yard cam hasnt recorded anything in a month. I get notifications of motion detected, yet no recording. The front cam does record, however, even though I have it set to record 30seconds when motion is detected, it only records 10. Im writing this review because a moving truck drove into my yard, got stuck, ruined the grass then eventually drove off. And of course this trash camera recorded a total of 20seconds, two 10second intervals. They were on my yard for 10minutes in total. My wyze cam caught everything but the licence plate, as i was expecting this camera to achieve the basic task of recording a gigantic truck in my yard as it drove in and drove out. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. great cam if you only want to use it to view a livestream, the only plus to this trash
