5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect at human detection

I have positioned it to look out the front window. The glass would interfere with the infrared light so I leave those off and use landscape lights outside to provide illumination at night. The resultant image is sharp and the notification is fast enough to catch whoever passes in front of the window. I have now placed one inside of each of the ground floor windows facing out. In some cases I added a black rubber lenshade around the camera to block out reflection or lights from behind. I highly recommend the Eufy Doorbells and indoor cameras! I have tried other brands and this is the only one that works extremely well at detecting humans.

HALL OF FAME
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent hardware and app, data secure
Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2022

First off, I'd say ignore all the negative reviews with xenophobic comments about data security on this indoor security cam. Your data is stored in your country's servers and governed by your country's laws. And you do NOT give out personal info, other than a required email address (I use a disposable alias from Yahoo) and an optional cell number.
To set this up, you need to download an app; the Eufy (what a dumb name!) Security app currently has a 4.8 rating on the App Store. It's really easy to use. And makes setup a breeze -- only thing you need to do is sign up for a free account with your email address (again, no personal info is asked for), to scan a QR code on the camera, push the sync button in the back, and enter your WiFi password. The app does not use your location at all (at least not in the iOS app), and if you don't want to use it in conjunction with a home kit system, you don't have to give it access to your local network. You can always save camera data on a microSD card (not included); a Class 10 microSD is required, and up to 128GB is supported. I opted for the cloud storage option for both convenience and security (e.g., a thief can remove the microSD card!).
To update the camera's firmware, go to its "page" in the app, click the settings (gear) icon, go down to General > About Device, at the very bottom, tap "Check for firmware update." Once you're all set, there're a lot of options to explore. But for the price, this camera gives excellent day and night video quality and captures the slightest sound, too. This camera beats the hell out of my last indoor security cam bought just a couple of years ago for about ten bucks more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome HomeKit Camera!
Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2020

NOTE: I have been using WyzeCams for almost 2 years now, so my review will be heavily revolving around that comparison.
I was looking to upgrade due to the fact that Wyze - against numerous customer requests - has zero intentions of making their cameras compatible with Apple HomeKit. Also, I was over dealing with all the little quirks that came with using WyzeCams (random disconnections, tiny bugs with every firmware update etc.), I don’t need special face detection or pet detection features - for my usage all really I need is streaming video and motion notifications. After looking into what my options were I decided to try the Eufy 2k Indoor Camera since it is HomeKit compatible.
The 2K camera is made of plastic, but it has a better finish to it compared to other cameras, with a simple, understated but nice looking modern design. Installing the 2k camera is like most others; inside the package you get the camera, a micro USB cables and a standard USB AC power supply. Installation hardware is included, and I like how the camera features a detachable base plate that makes positioning the camera much easier if it’s being wall-mounted. After installing the camera, I downloaded the Eufy security app from the App Store and fired it up.
First of all, pairing the 2k camera within the Eufy app literally took seconds to do, and I was up and running in no time. Second (and more importantly) I could see that the Eufy's 2k video quality was much, much clearer than WyzeCams lower-quality HD video. The "live view" video streaming on the 2k was crisp, smooth and never choppy (something that anyone who has used Wyzecams will tell you does happen regularly). Response was quick as well, whenever I went into the camera view it connected with no problem. I have the 2k camera in the exact same location as a WyzeCam that would on occasion take 5-10 seconds to connect to. Speaking of the Eufy app, it has a similar layout when compared to the Wyze app so learning my way around didn't take much time to get used to. I did notice though that when compared to the Wyze app interface, the Eufy app felt much more polished and complete.
The best features though for me so far are related to Apple's HomeKit and the Home app. Before, I had to open the Home app to check the status or control any of my smart home products (lights, fans, etc.) and then open the Wyze app separately to check all the Wyze cameras. Because the Eufy 2k Indoor camera is HomeKit compatible, I could now see the camera's live feed directly from the Home app! Also, because the Eufy 2k works with Apple's HomeKit Secure Video, I know all of my video footage is more secure and stored privately. Honestly, I didn't realize how much of an issue having to open multiple apps was until I had the means to view and control everything within one central app on my phone, and HomeKit compatibility makes this possible.
So if you're looking for a HomeKit compatible camera that has excellent features, excellent video quality, and effortless setup, the Eufy 2k indoor camera is an awesome choice. Granted, I am still not through trying out all the other features this camera has (person or pet detection, etc.) but as of this writing, I am already a happy customer. I actually went and ordered a second Eufy 2k Indoor camera to replace my other WyzeCam V2, and I'm already planning on buying their 2K Indoor Cam Pan & Tilt cameras to possibly replace my WyzeCam Pans. As much as I liked the low cost and decent features that Wyze cameras gave me, upgrading to the Eufy 2k cameras was an eye-opening experience and a great choice after all. They are only marginally more expensive than Wyzecams but well worth the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - finally a good security camera

I've tried a few of these low cost security cameras including blink, ring and wyze and they all fell short in some way in terms of detection issues or app problems. So I wasn't looking forward to the Eufy camera experience especially after reading some of the complaints here.
Well, I've only had it a day, but so far I think this Eufy camera is excellent, even taking the low price out of the equation. It is made by Anker, a company that also makes power banks and things like that. First off, it does offer 2fa security by email and phone to secure the account. It also lets you choose the server you want it to interact with. The video image quality is very good. The sound quality is very good. The night vision is black and white but it has good clarity. So far detection is flawless. It can detect sounds as well as motions. It is easy to disable detection or turn off camera completely. Updating the firmware was also simple The app is nice and works well. I just use the Eufy security app from the Apple store.
I like that you don't need to buy some plan to see your videos or download them etc. They do offer a cloud plan for $2.99 a month, which I guess could be useful, but you don't need it. I just put a 32gb memory card in it and it works fine. I can even download the videos to the photos app on the iPhone. The head of the camera swivels so you can easily position it. And I think it looks pretty nice. You can turn off the indicator light in the settings. I unplugged it once from power and thought it might be a hassle to reconnect it. Nope. Plugged it back in It did it all by itself. In my view, so far at least, this is a far superior product to these other offerings.

OK, I got this on sale for less than 30 bucks so really I have nothing to complain about. I own Wyze cams, Foscams, Amcrests, Dahuas, D-Link, Reolink etc. you name it. I have a fairly large (over twenty cameras) footprint of cameras at home and my #1 requirement (with the exception of the video doorbell) is RTSP or ONVIF compatibility. Believe it or not, this camera supports RTSP. I use it with Blue Iris though the cloud connectivity is great, as well. Side note on RTSP compatibility, the stream is not protected through a user ID and password. That's problematic but less so if it is on your own private network and on a router that you trust.
I also use the Eufy 2K video doorbell and both of these products are fantastic. Highly recommended, especially for beginners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best indoor camera for the price

I have tried the following indoor cameras: Vimtag, LaView, and Wyze.
Vimtag had great picture and sound, but all the playback had out-of-sync audio every time. I tried everything and their support was not helpful and they also didn’t really understand my problem. Maybe other people have better luck, but I returned it.
LaView had fair picture and poor sound. I bought Wyze to test side by side and Wyze won out only by a small amount. The video was better, but the audio was still fuzzy and kinda fair.
I bought THIS products, eufy, to test side by side with Wyze. Eufy is miles better than Wyze and the others. The video is really clear, the night vision is just as clear, and the audio is the loudest and clearest I could’ve hoped for in a small camera like this. In fact, I hear clear words from another room, not just the living room where this is set up. Wyze is being returned as we speak.
What other positives are there? My 128gb micro SD card works great; I have it set to only record when it detects human or pet. No cloud subscription is required. It seems to have a solid connection to my wifi, better than LaView and Wyze, and I put it in the exact same spot as those. The app is easy to navigate, fast to load, and has basic options. I do have to say that it has just basic options and configuration, less options than the others, but I’m also not looking for bells and whistles.
I’m glad I had the others to compare because I’ve never had surveillance cameras before. This is the absolute best one for the price. I hope this review helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Switched from Wyze

Amazing little cameras! I switched from Wyze cams because they were unreliable and took forever to send notifications to my phone for motion events. These cameras are almost instant on the notification speed. I highly recommend these cameras to anyone looking.
I have two (2) of these cameras mounted outside under the eaves. They have been outside for a couple months now with no issues. I used some electrical tape to tape up the holes and openings. I live in a cold climate and it has got into the below freezing temps with no issues. The quality is great and the motion sensitivity options are easy to fine tune.
NOTE: There is one thing to note. The camera can record continuously to the SD card you put in it. The only caveat is that the continuous recordings will only be in 1080p quality. Only the motion events are recorded in 2K. Hopefully Eufy will update the settings to allow the user to select their continuous recording quality level and not just default to the 1080p.

I had low expectations before using this product, for $40, how good could it be? Most Ring cameras set you back three times the price or more, and alerting on those are spotty at best.
Well, I' delighted to say this product is solid in many ways, far exceeding my expectations.
The setup is easy, intuitive, and won't take long, just remember to purchase or supply a micro sd card for local storage.
The picture quality is very good, despite the price, I feel like image quality is crisp and detailed. I can make out what is going on and can hone in on detail if I wanted to.
Alerting and streaming are very solid as well, if an alarm goes off, it's usually near instantaneous to get the live video feed up of what's going on. This is where I was particularly impressed compared with my Ring doorbell. There are no "activation" nonsense going on for a live stream, you get right to seeing what is going on.
My only complaint is a minor one, the night vision mode detected a person when it was light from a monitor shining on a poster. I submitted a ticket with the video to their sipport team and it's been a few release cycles with no more false alarms like that.
Overall, very solid product, I recently picked up a second one as I've been happy with this after a few months.

This camera is excellent and exceeds my expectations. I already have 2 other brands in use all around the house so I’m not new to security cameras. The set up is simple, and the product seems well made. The picture quality is excellent, motion detection works well (sensitivity can be adjusted), and audio recording is clear. There are many smart functions and customizable settings that are included for free. It is wired and for indoors only so you have to consider placement carefully. It connects directly to your WiFi without a base station. I use it with a 128GB microSD card and do continuous recording but the cloud storage option is also a bargain compared to other companies. I have no privacy concerns as some reviewers do. You can set schedules for when it will record and when it will detect motion. It would be nice if they could add a scheduling function for basic camera on/off. Overall, I highly recommend this camera.

I bought one of these for $40 or so to try the system out. I've seen dozens of companies online but some of the "nice" ones cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. I figured I'd try this out and even if it's junk I'd only be out 40 bucks. Set it up fairly easily, it's wired so it plugs into a usb wall adapter. It has to have wifi to work and it really seems like something that is primarily meant to be used with a smartphone and app for notifications. It can be programmed to turn on and off based on a schedule or work with your phone to turn off when you're within range, or a number of other options that I don't use. It stores recordings on a micro sd card in the device or can store to the internet / cloud if you pay a monthly fee (I think its around $3/camera or $10 for 10 cameras for a month of storage at a time, per month). Theyve also got the option of having their security team monitor movement and call you and then 911. I like all this because it gives me the option to 'scale up' if one day I decide I want those extra features, or if I'm going to be gone an extended time. There's also the ability to set it up to sound an alarm if someone is detected. There's also a speaker that lets you be creepy and talk through the camera (wife hates this, so I don't use it). Finally, the night vision is pretty neat, it has IR lights that we can't see, but basically will 'light up' a small room to the camera. I tried it in my bathroom with the lights off and I could clearly see everything. In my main room it can make out the close details even with all the lights out but the other side of the room is faded. Still a really nice option. One last thing, I didn't think it came with a usb power supply or cord, but it does, so that's nice.
Basically, for $40 I've got it set up in a location that can view all entrances to my house and send me pictures and a notification to my phone for free. If I ever go on a vacation I can pay for extra features. One downside of not paying for the online storage is that if a criminal breaks in and sees the device, they could just steal it, or unplug it, making it so I lose access to any evidence of them being there (since I'm storing the footage locally on the device's micro sd card, sold separately).
For the price, it seems like a great deal for home use, user friendly as well so that's nice.

There are thousands of reviews here but the one thing I didn't see was whether you could place the camera on the edge of a counter or table and point it down towards the floor. I have attached pictures showing you can indeed do so. The base is not heavily weighted so I think the cord plays a small role in keeping it in place but it works fine. I haven't had it tip over while it's placed in the middle position demonstrated in my photos.
In terms of features, this camera has loads of them and everything I would expect in one of these indoor cams. Since I have Eufy outdoor cams, it's nice that this one integrates into the same app. These are solid replacements for Wyze cameras. Unlike Wyze though, there is no magnetic mount.
TIP: I've noticed that it's best to set the activity zone a bit smaller than the area you want to be detected. It tends to trigger just outside the zone you place.
TIP 2: This camera has an alarm that will trigger on motion. I think it's on by default so make sure you change that if you don't want it going off when it detects motion. My dog got quite the surprise.

Excellent camera for the price. Had some major connectivity and stability issues with the Wyze cams, so gave these a shot. I've since replaced all Wyze cams with these.
Great, crisp, clear picture during sufficient lighting conditions. The night vision looks pretty good, ya just have to be careful not to place too close to surroundings so reflections don't wash out the image. I've got a couple in the toddler's bedrooms and a third just installed on covered porch. Understand these are indoor cams, so testing my luck outside on the covered porch to see how it works.
The ability to modify the motion alert area in the image was very important for the porch cam. It took some tweaking and trial and error to remove cars (and their headlights) from setting it off, but thanks to the people and pet motion options (vice all other motion option) I was able to reduce 17 notifications overnight (all cars/headlights), to 0.
Definitely recommend over Wyze. App, picture, and 2-way audio is far superior for just a few bucks more per camera.

I purchased this to keep an eye the cat when traveling, during a prime day sale. My main requirement was there be no subscription fee and no privacy-invading connections to the cloud (especially not Ring, Amazon, or Google). I was pleasantly surprised that the phone app and user interface is actually really good, and the motion/object recognition feature works perfectly. I would remind people that no microSD card is included, which you need in order to save clips, and the camera is a little fussy about SD card quality. Buy SanDisk or something and not "random cheap brand". To Eufy, I suggest, throw in a 64GB SD or something, I think these are cheap enough you could do that without hurting your cost competitiveness and the product would be just that more user friendly.

I've now had the camera for over a year and it never recorded my old phone flashing like my new one does. I do not like having a beam of light flashing that I can't see with my naked eye on my forehead aimed at my pineal gland. This angers me. Thanks to this camera I caught what APPLE is doing. I now have a lovely piece of blue painter's tape on my cell and put my cell in airplane mode if I read in bed with it. We are all very clearly being monitored in ways we never imagined or consented to.

These are a nice size and works seamlessly on the eufy app with the others and an Eufy doorbell cam. Motion detection is excellent once you refine the activity areas. I have a couple Annka Nova 1080p PTX wifi cameras these blow them away. Much wider angle and clearer picture. I would say the Annke Nova app is good but this is better. Easy to install and setup, App loaded and worked flawlessly, instructions are clear. works great through a front window. Couldn't be any happier with THAT part. The image quality is okay, but at night, the color is washed out, almost looking like black & white. I found out it's because of the back of the window covering I installed is reflecting off the glass as a kind of gray background color, which is reducing the color saturation. But it's not a fault of the camera. The human recognition works great, and no more false alarms from leaves, shadows, car headlights

I got this camera as a pup monitor for when my dog is in his crate. Overall the picture quality in daytime is good and at night the ir leds do a good job of illuminating the whole crate. Even though the camera is “2k” the footage is still heavily compressed so it’s not GoPro quality picture but definitely passable for checking in when I’m away.
I use the camera through HomeKit which is fine except you’ll need to use the eufy app to utilize the 2 way audio feature. My dog will not listen to my voice through the speaker so no point in having it for me. You’ll also see that recording is limited to 1080p when paired with HomeKit which isn’t really much of a loss when factoring in the compression. In the app there are some cool features where if motion is detected in certain zones you can have the camera play a pre recorded clip of you saying “off” or something like that. I did not try this since my dog didn’t pay much heed to the audio anyways. The reliability of the connection is pretty decent although there are some times where I won’t be able to connect either through HomeKit or through the app. This has always resolved itself either by trying again or waiting a bit and starting the stream again.
For $40 this camera definitely fulfilled all my needs as a crate camera and was a great addition.

this is incredible value. Happy with the picture quality - advertised as 2k video but I bought it for HomeKit and looks to be true 1080p with great color and contrast. I have several of these and they are streaming just fine to the HomeKit app and recording to HomeKit secure video. Would be perfect if they came out with a wired waterproof homekit-secure version. Until then, I'm making rain shields and even if I lose one or two to water damage, I'll just buy another - they're so cheap!
Con: Must pair with Eufy app before they can be added to HomeKit - not truly appless. The app can be deleted after configuring for Homekit but the camera cannot be deleted from the Eufy profile.

I was interested in getting a WiFi-cam into my garage as can open and close the door remotely. Other requirements were HomeKit compatibility, the ability to keep access to the cam and video internal or just to my accounts via HomeKit and not loaded to a 3rd party companies servers. Finally, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. I was not concerns mounting as I was sure I could figure something out.
The Eufy 2k cam more then fit the bill. It is very small and light. While you can connect to the Eufy servers for video and streaming /recording, it also easily connects to HomeKit. When connected to HomeKit, it streams through HK and connects only to my iCloud account. Be aware that you do lose some of the advanced Eufy services, but it is a small price to pay for security. At $25 it is an awesome cam.
The quality is really good day and night and with lights on or running with night vision. Initially, I was using its motion detection to turn the overhead garage light on. However, as the vitiosi is video based it almost never went off because when it would shut off (after my 10minute delay), the camera would see that as motion and turn it back on. The only want to turn it off was the shut the light off remotely twice very quickly. That said the night vision is so wood, it does not really need the light to provide a quality image.
The cam also provides audio from the room and the ability to speak back through the cam as well.
Because it is so light, mounting was super simple. Eufy provides a guide decal for where to drill/put in screws. There is a rotate 180 mode to allow for ceiling mounting. Power is provided be a micro usb.
When connected to HomeKit and placed in a room/scene it is also added as a favorite in the room and HK favorites page.

So far, I am really liking this camera but have noticed a couple of annoying things.
First, the stand cannot be removed. I wanted to try to mount this somewhere with limited space and was hoping I would be able to take off the stand but unfortunately, this is not possible. This camera would be great if the stand was a little lower profile, removable or just more adjustable.
Second, its great that you can mount upside down and adjust the picture to compensate for this but unfortunately you cannot adjust the picture less than 180 degrees. A 90 degree option would be great for mounting sideways on a wall.
Third, the option to turn off the recording light is great but for some reason, mine keeps turning itself back on. I think that this is happening at the start of a new day for recording but am not entirely sure. I turn it off and it always ends up turning itself back on for some reason.
Other than that, this camera is a great option.
Update: the recording light issue has been resolved.

4.0 out of 5 stars Camera will not operate unless it can connect to China. Lighting changes trigger motion detection.
Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2022

Let's be clear - people (including me) are buying this camera because it's "the cheapest" native Homekit Secure Video camera. That being considered, it's a great value. Although the price changes often, I bought this camera for $29 after a coupon. Ultimately, for that $29, you get what they say - it's a 2K (HKSV maxes out at 1080p right now) wifi IP camera that fully supports Homekit Secure Video. True.
Here's what they don't tell you - which may make it worth paying the extra ~$20 for the competitor's camera:
As a Homekit Secure Video camera, you are supposed to be able to simply scan the QR code on the device from within the Home app to add the camera to your smart home, and all communications are kept local within your network. This DOES NOT WORK for multiple reasons:
1. Although the included instructions say you can connect directly to Apple's Home app WITHOUT using the Eufy app, by holding the reset button on the camera for 10 seconds, it doesn't work. You MUST download the Eufy app and add the camera THERE, then use a fuction in their app to export that camera into the Home app. This is a hassle and probably isn't consistent with Apple's Homekit branding guidelines. (Granted, once you are able to add the camera into the home app, you CAN delete the Eufy app)
2. As a simple homekit camera, there's no reason this camera should be making any connections outside of my network. HOWEVER, if you actually block the camera from accessing the internet on your router (retaining local LAN connectivity), the camera will work fine UNTIL it reboots. Then it won't work. In other words, this camera phones home to China while booting up, and will refuse to function unless it can reach their server. This is bad for multiple reasons. Firstly, who knows what data is being transferred, and why? Secondly, what happens when they eventually stop supporting/selling this product and take the server down? The cameras just won't work ever again?
With those items out of the way, I really only have one other complaint - LIGHTING changes trigger motion detection. I can see why you might want this to be the case, but I wish it was configurable. Why? The simplest/most common automation to use in the Home app with a camera is "turn on the light in this room when motion is detected". Easy enough, right? And yes, it works! But... if you have it turn the lights back off after x minutes - the lights going back OFF are seen as motion, which turns them back on - in a loop - forever. Seems like a major oversight.

I started my budget smart security camera journey with Yi, then Wyze and now Eufy. Yi was good, but the app was glitchy and started to have issues connecting. Wyze was supposed to be better, but then they started "improving" services and charge for many things Yi and Eufy have standard like longer event recordings and person detection. So far of the three I like Eufy the best. Good image quality, fast notification, good app, appropriate event recordings (long enough to see what triggered the recording without having to go through live playback like wyze), provides a snapshot and labels when the trigger is by human detection, and voice intercom like loud and clear. If they ever get a 4k version - I'm definitely buying. I gave away my Yi cameras and will likely give away my Wyze as well. If I had to rank them, eufy, Yi and wyze last since they sell cheap equipment to catch you with their subscription services.

I have been using multiple Wyze cameras for several years and in general I like them given the price. now I had the chance of running Eufy with Wyze side by side on the same spot. Comparing the Eufy with Wzye, several things become obvious right away:
1) Eufy's lens has a wider angle so you see more in the picture. (+/- up to you)
2) The range of downward movement is more limited in Eufy Pan. Wyze Pan can turn downwards a lot more. (-)
3) Eufy's person detection is free while Wyze has to pay for a subscription. (+++)
4) Eufy's picture seems to have better dynamic range. e.g. the over exposed area seems to be less washed-out (+)
5) Wzye's recorded events seems to start sooner, e.g if a person is walking across the frame, wzye's recording usually catches the person at the edge of the frame while Eufy's recording doesn't start till the person is almost in the middle of the frame. (--)

Like that it has 2K resolution as opposed to just 1080 resolution. Decent, video quality and HomeKit sport as well. However, if you hook the camera up with HomeKit, you loose the 2K resolution and I goes back to 1080 resolution since that is all HomeKit supports at present time. Also, if you link the camera with HomeKit, you also loose the AI functionality that the Eufy provides and it will just go back to regular motion detect. I don’t know why this happens since the EufyCam2 still work with AI when hooked up to HomeKit. Make sure to purchase a microSD card if you want to just store the video locally on the camera. Else you will have to use a NAS or cloud service like HomeKit.
It comes with a micro USB cable and a power adapter that allows you power the camera with. The cable is decently long, maybe about 6’ long, so you may need to use an extension cable, if you don’t have an outlet right where you’re going to plug in the camera.
When installing the camera, you’ll. Need to download the app and create an account if you are using it for the first time. Was easy enough to go through adding the camera. However, I ran into a problem when installing the microSD card, it will ask you to install it and format it. However, it failed to format. So I tried to format first on a computer and then tried to get it to format the on the camera and it still wouldn’t work. So, I skipped the format and finished adding the camera. After it was installed, it updated the firmware on the camera and once that was done, I was able to format the card on the camera and everything was working fine after that.
The camera has motion as well as sound detection, which is nice. So if you want to monitor a baby, you can use it for that also.
While you are live streaming from the camera, you can record video or take photos while you are live streaming. There is also a button that you can press in the app that lets you to talk through the camera. That way you can have a two way communicate with the person during a live stream.
Notifications when it detects motion or sound is pretty quick, you will get a notification on your phone usually within 2-3 seconds .
One thing, I noticed that you can’t do is hook it up with automations on the EufyCam2. That way, I could use my outside cameras when it detects motion to start recording video in the garage with this camera.
But overall a great camera with a lot of features.

I’m using this as a security camera in a detached ADU and have it for about a month.
The good:
Price - a little more expensive than the WyzeCam, but much more value.
Reliability - there’s only been one occasion where I needed to restart the camera to reconnect.
Software - great app, easy to quickly change settings and view feed.
Quality - great picture quality. Not mind-blowing but excellent for the price.
RTSP - I was able to connect to it using RTSP and it worked fantastically.
Options - the motion/person detection is great. The ability to arm it to set an alarm and send a notification is fantastic. The pet detection is fun but not super reliable.
The Bad:
Interoperability - no usable Google Assistant support at all. No IFTTT support. I’d like some way to use a Google Assistant device to turn the camera on or off and to arm/disarm the alarm. Also, IFTTT support would possibly allow me to arm the camera at the same time as our Ring security system. They advertise support for both, but Google support is limited to streaming to a Google video device and IFTTT support is nonexistent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Price, Good Picture, Spotty Connectivity

Anker puts out great products at excellent prices. This camera is no different, but it does have its flaws.
For around $40, you get a camera that is easy to set-up and configure that gives you an excellent picture and set of features along with HomeKit integration which is critical if you are part of Apple's ecosystem.
Packaging is professional looking, easy to read and the camera is packaged safely to prevent it from being damaged in transit. In the box you will find the camera, cable and USB power adaptor as well as mounting screws and a plate to mount to any flat surface.
The Eufy Security app is a mixed bag. It does what it needs to do and even if you're a HomeKit user, you will need this app for the initial set-up of the camera. The English grammar through some of Anker's apps is questionable and this is no different but you should be able to understand the walk through and set-up. Once the camera is connected, you can integrate with Apple, Google or Amazon if you wish right from the app. No issues here.
You can mount these cameras most anywhere with the included hardware, but you might find yourself needing an extension cord if you're mounting on the ceiling or anywhere that's not close to an outlet. Another 3 feet of cable would be helpful.
Picture quality is awesome for a camera in this price range. Nice and sharp in both well-lit and nigh-vision conditions.
If you want to store video, you'll need either a microSD card, a subscription to Eufy's storage plan or HomeKit Secure Video. Having the option definitely adds value so you're not locked into only one single storage solution. Choose what works best for you.
The biggest complaint here is that both of the cameras I have tend to lose connectivity every couple days for a few minutes. They always reconnect without intervention but it is annoying and hopefully they don't disconnect when they're needed most.
All in all, a great value camera that does what it needs to do. Definitely worth picking at least one up as it's hard to go wrong at this price point.

Currently I have 18 cameras running on my property at all times. I started with the old style, wired surveillance, but not long ago I dipped my toes into the Wifi smart cameras world with the Wyze cam. Cheap, did neat things, and easy to make work. The cheap showed in the not great quality in video, audio, connection, reliability, etc. So, when this Eufy Camera came scrolling past one day, I looked into it.
As Eufy in an Anker brand, that comes with a sense of trust, as Anker is a proven great quality brand. It cost more than the Wyze camera, but not exceedingly so. The features it claimed to have were similar and often slightly better than the Wyze. I decided to give it a shot. I am glad I did.
The video quality is like night and day. The difference between Eufy and Wyze is like comparing Blu ray to VHS. The night vision is clear as a bell and farther reaching. The events record entirely, rather than just a 12 second clip. It has an alarm feature that you can use when you're away, so if it triggers it makes a ton of noise. The person detection is accurate, and is free. Free is important, because when Wyze started, they said the person detection was free, but due to things going downhill with their AI partner, they have to start charging for it. While I understand why, I can't get on board with paying for a feature. I will pay for cloud storage, but I don't like the idea of paying for a feature. The Eufy has pet detection, so it can tell the difference between Humans, Pets, and just general motion, so you can tell it to not notify you of your pets movements to lower the superfluous motion notifications when it's running.
Just all in all it's pretty great as a standalone camera, with tons of features packed in. I barely scratched how many there are in this. However, it does come with a decently sized flaw. It's smart assistant integrations are missing a big chunk of access, and that breaks my routine.
So, in order to mitigate notifications when I want them, I have routines setup for my surveillance so that I can tell Google, say, I'll be right back, and it does a routine that sets the lights, TVs, stereos, computers, etc all to stand by/off, and sets all the controllable cameras to the "armed" modes. Notifications for motion, person detection, etc. Wyze handled this swimmingly, because you can just use IFTTT triggers to set a voice command to switch "Modes". One mode set to disarmed, one to armed, so when I am home and awake, I won't be bombarded by the various events triggered by us being home, but when we're gone or in bed, I get them all. Eufy on the other hand has no connections to outside services like IFTTT, Google Assistant, Homekit, or Alexa that allow it to switch the modes. So I have to rely on manually switching all of the cameras modes to away when we leave, and rely on scheduling the modes for bedtime and morning shut off. I can't use the Geofencing option, because I can't use the scheduling for bedtime. Basically, I have to choose which of the two modes to use, which ends up just being me manually having to switch each camera to away when we go places, which is annoying.
That discrepancy is what loses the star on the overall rating. The other lost stars are mostly just because it is still a budget camera, and they can only get so good. So motion triggers happen when there is no motion, but it doesn't trigger human or pet incorrectly. Picture quality is great, but compared to higher end cameras like the Nest cameras, they aren't the top tier 5 star best.
I would definitely recommend these cameras as the best middle of the road surveillance cameras, as well as the handful of other Eufy brand devices we own now.

The camera is easy to set up and use. It has a good picture and nice features. My only complaint is that it doesn't integrate well with other eufy Security products. I've spent thousands of dollars on eufy indoor and outdoor cameras, door/window sensors, doorbells, locks, motion sensors, etc. Some camera motion sensors can be used in automations and configured to act the same way all as a single unit, as long as they connect to a eufu Homebase. But these cameras do not connect to a Homebase, so none of that stuff works with them. They each have to be configured separately and if, like me, you have them in every room of the house, it's not ideal. Otherwise, though, they're good cameras.

I used to own Yi cameras but switched over to Eufy since many of the older Yi cameras I had were unreliable. This one definitely has a wider field of view compared to my old Yi's and the image is sharper, with better colors and dynamic range. The mounting system leaves more to be desired as the USB cable shoots straight out the back of the camera. This, with its limited ball mount style stand, makes positioning the camera a little awkward at times. Plus there is no way to tighten the camera's position once you've found the right angle, which isn't a huge deal since it doesn't move once it's set, but it would be nice to lock it in.
Eufy's app also sometimes fails to load some of the camera feeds, although this is not particular to just this model camera. Even after restarting the app, sometimes I need to wait as I think it's something on Eufy's end. However this only happens once every full moon or so and doesn't impact the recording. I wish Homekit integrated more than five cameras and I wish Eufy would integrate with Alexa better. Alexa features are fairly basic compared to its rivals but the free local storage is what I signed up for and that's been great!
Overall I have about four different Eufy camera models around my house, about 10 in total, and these are some of the most reliable cameras I've owned.

I've only had it a few days, but this seems like a good low-cost camera. Setup is fairly easy, the image quality is good and I'm very happy to have HomeKit integration (unfortunately they seem to have abandoned HomeKit for their newer cameras).
I've used the included app a bit, but I'm relying on the HomeKit integration for everyday use.
There are a couple of downsides:
You have to create a Eufy account in order to use the camera, even if you just want to use it with HomeKit. In addition, the app doesn't allow the use of the iOS password manager when creating an account (it does once the account is created).
I had trouble with the camera I originally received. I couldn't get the setup to work, and the indicator lights didn't behave as expected. I wasted 45 minutes troubleshooting this brand new product before I figured out that the provided power cable is junk, and can't maintain a connection over slight changes in the cord position. I had no trouble with the replacement.

Wow, the quality (of course the Eufy is 2K) of the camera is much better than the Blink. Blink had started their subscription plan enforcement so I wanted to switch to video capturing on a micro SD card. Eufy fit the bill! It also has people recognition free (so far). Eufy is much better than Wyze Pan and Tilt camera (and Wyze charges for people recognition). So Eufy better in features and clarity than Blink and Wyze cameras. Eufy's app interface is quite extensive and easy to learn use. Eufy provides 24x7 recording also to micro SD card. It's night recording is much better than Blink/Wyze. If you add additional light as a source or if you have a street light or low votage lights the Eufy can display a pretty good recording. Granted, depending on the distance of object, you probably won't see face clearly without a spotlight or additional light source. Still impressive. A keeper. I'm putting one Eufy indoor cam under an are of my house that does not get rain and it protects the camera. Will see how it hold up to moisture. I taped off the microSD slot to avoid extra dirt from getting into slot. So far, very impressed. Great decison to buy. The Eufy appears to only be connecting to my 2.4Ghz wi-fi and not my 5Ghz Wifi. So far, no lag issues or drop outs. Easy to set up. Very happy with my decision to go this route and retire Wyze (Poor video / pic quality especially at night) and Blink (if no subscription, no recordings).

Setup was a BREEZE. I also think Eufy has fairly good security, including optional two factor authentication and encryption. Picture is very clear.
I really only have two complaints about this camera. Many night vision cameras that use infrared use leds that are not visible to the human eye. Unfortunately the ones employed by Eufy are, so they make a red ring of lens around the lens at night. I can see some kids (or even adults) getting freaked out by this. It’s very dim, but still noticeable. The other thing is that the arrangement of the infrared lights causes a lot of reflection off of the walls. To be fair in the instructions it says to mount it 20 cm away from the walls because of this. But let’s be honest, that would look bad, and you would miss some coverage of the room. I have experienced other cameras that don’t have this issue.
I wish I would have known that HomeKit maxes out at 1080p. I probably would have saved some money on gone for the cheaper model. I haven’t integrated it with HomeKit yet but I think I’m going to since we already pay for that cloud storage.

Build quality and video quality are very good, especially for this price range. The viewing angle is also very good.
A few things I don't like about this camera though is that when a recorded video is played within eufy's app (V2.7.0_675) on iPhone (iOS 14.4.1) or iPad (iPadOS14.4.1), the loudness fluctuates about 2 - 4 times per second. When the video is exported on the same device, the audio is normal so something is wrong with the app. Customer support told me to turn down the volume when playing the video, but that's just a terrible response. I hope they fix this issue as soon as they can.
Another thing that bothers me is the 2-way audio quality. It's just unusable. You have to talk very slowly and repeat several times in order to communicate with the other end. This feature should be used only in emergency.
Finally, although it's not eufy's fault, you can't use 2K video on Homekit.
Overall, this is a very good camera despite some of the flaws. If you can stand the audio quality and low res video quality on Homekit, we recommend this product.

We wanted to add a relatively inexpensive camera to our Eufy system to monitor our basement, and especially wanted one that runs off of rechargeable batteries. This one works well with our Eufy Homebase and mobile app, although I understand you can use it by itself with just wifi. It's not as robust or weather resistant as the pro cameras, but it doesn't need to be.
You can set it on the included stand or attach it to a wall or other surface with the pieces provided. The night vision is great, which is good since the basement is usually dark. The mic is also very good and there's a speaker function through the app so you can have a conversation if needed.
You have the option to record on a microSD card (not included) or sign up for Eufy's cloud service (free trial, then paid). The battery life on Eufy devices has usually been good, but we haven't had this one long enough to know. In any case, it recharges via USB, so easy enough.
Lastly, the motion detection is good and there are options in the app to fine tune to exclude pets, etc.
Added a photo of camera feed from the totally dark basement.

I love the Eufy wired doorbells so much I bought these hoping for the same image quality. Sadly, they're not the same. The night vision is excellent, but the day time image is not as sharp. Plus, there's no option to get rid of the fisheye distortion nor HDR capability to attenuate the back lighting.
Addendum: After much deliberation, I think it's unfair for me to compare this indoor camera to the Eufy doorbell camera, which costs substantially more. For its price-point, this camera offers the best bang for the bucks and gets the job done. 2k resolution, awesome night vision, motion detection and tracking, Eufy signature customer service, etc... that's one heck of a deal! Upgrading to 4 stars! Still docking one star off though for no fisheye distortion correction.

I tried the Blink cameras, the Wyze cameras, and the Wansview cameras....these were better, but reliability is an issue lately. The motion clip is for the entire duration of the motion event which is great, not 30 seconds like the Blink cams, the audio is way better than the Wyze cams, and the software isn't bad (when it works). Individual SD card slots are awesome, and the picture quality is great. Hope they fix whatever issue is recently causing the slow/unreliable loading. Possibly sending them back.

Good quality camera that when paired against my Nest cam has demonstrated superior human alerts which was my main concern. I currently have it pointed looking out a window and the performance has been pretty good for the price.
Pros:
-Decent video quality
-Micro SD card / RTSP combability
-Pretty consistent AI detection
-Decent app interface
-Minimal delay
-Homekit compatibility for people in apple's ecosystem
Cons:
-The camera will stop continuous recording if it loses connection to the internet. This should not be the case for something that records locally to an sd card.
-No 2FA: If someone has your username and password (these are frequently leaked so use unique passwords) they are able to view your streams.
-Clunky 24/7 recording viewing: If you're going to implement 24/7 video timelines, the footage review feature should be copied from Nest's sightline. As you scrub you should get real time snapshots of the footage you are looking at with thumbnail previews of motion events under the timeline. If this feature was added it could make this an easy Nest killer.
-Good person detection, but can still be improved. The camera is much more reliable in sending me people alerts as compared to the nest iq cam, but it still misses quite a few people coming into the field of view of the camera.
-Software control of video quality: You get the option to switch between 2k and 1080p, but given this is a homekit video compatible camera, we should have the ability to toggle the FPS to 24 when we switch into 1080p mode. I don't see this option and I would hope for it to be added.
-Software presentation of the home screen: Given these are wired cameras I would like to see an option of automatically starting the stream when you open the app. Instead when you open the main screen with your list of cameras you get a thumbnail of the last motion event and you have to click the icon to actually load the camera stream.
-Motion zones: Camera does not seem to always respect motion zones and will alert you of activity outside said zones

UPDATED (1 -> 3 stars): Eufy sent me a replacement, and while it's too early to say how much better this will work now, I have to admit I'm impressed by the customer service, this exceeded my expectations (I didn't really expect anything).
If the connectivity improves with this, I will update this review in the future.
----
I don't get a WiFi connection with the cameras at least 30% of the time, if not more often, so can't view anything. I have two of these cameras, same issue and this really makes the cameras useless during those times.
I replaced two Wyze v2 cameras with these for the higher resolution, but it doesn't help if I can't connect to the camera and get zero resolution (ie no picture) - the WyzeCams always connected. Same WiFi router, same network, same location.
I recently got two WyzeCams v3 and they also always connect 100% of the time. For testing purposes I have placed them in the same location as the EufyCams and while the WyzeCams always reliably connect, the EufyCams time out. Very frustrating. I will not be buying any more EufyCams.
All of my cams have the latest firmware, all are connected to the same WiFi router and are placed in the same location for testing purposes.
ALSO the Eufy phone app has the camera microphone on by default - this means if you are streaming any audio, e.g., spotify, audio book or podcast, its sound will stop and you have to first mute the audio on the Eufy app, and then restart the other audio. This is very annoying, and unfortunately there is no way to set the default audio state to avoid this problem.

This is a good camera with excellent resolution and night vision. In most aspects better than the competition and the price is just good.
The one big problem is that they can't call this a "security" camera if it does not work when the internet is down. This is a bug they have had for more than a year, judging from the people complaining about it. The camera is powered on, it has an SD card, your WIFI is even working, everything is OK, but there is an internet outage, the camera stops recording, as if it was completely dead. You would expect that the camera would record events, since it can do it to the SD card, but it doesn't.
I'll change my recommendation if and when they fix this problem.

I bought this based on my brother and how he has it set up at his house. I like the idea that I am not tied to a monitoring company. I have it set up in my living room window, so I can see the front door and driveway. I cannot use the night vision because it reflects off the glass. I had to turn off "all other motion" because it notifies you when a leaf or branch moves on the bushes or tree. Also the t.v. reflection sets it off, headlights and taillights on passing cars. It sometimes picks up a person in the driveway. Always picks up the delivery person during the day and even a squirrel that walked by the front door. What bothers me is last night my husband was walking in front of the window that has the camera after dark and the camera did not detect him. I was hoping this was a better option than having one outside. I have read that if the burglar sees the camera, they just remove it. I understand the purpose of this is for "indoor" monitoring, but liked how well it was working for monitoring outdoors for my brother.

I have to open the app whenever I get home in order for geofencing to 'work'. That was pretty much the main question I had before I bought it so they kind of suckered me into buying it and the only reason I don't return it is because it is easier than ordering and setting up a new camera. I would say that if they projected a reasonable date for Beta to end or if they fixed the geofencing problem, I would give 5 stars. A quick google search would reveal this geofencing problem has been ongoing.

Granted, you can join this camera to Homekit Secure Video, but the Eufy App also maintains control of the feed. I setup Homekit so it turns off the camera when I am home. It says camera off in Homekit but the camera is still active in the Eufy App and sends me alerts that it detected motion. No way to delete the App or disable it. The camera works well otherwise, but I purchased this for use with Homekit Secure Video only.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great camera, however....

The camera is great! It is compact, easy to install, has great resolution, and night vision is very good. It's a good buy for the price. There are a couple of significant shortcomings that keep it from being an outstanding product for the money. It is advertised to "work with Alexa", however, there is not a single Alexa feature that works with my setup--I can't turn the camera on/off or change modes by voice which are the two most wanted functions for me. Everything has to be done manually on the app. And for whatever reason, the volume if the notification from the app is so low it's all but impossible to hear if the phone is in a pocket or not being looked at. This issue is further complicated by the lack of a vibration function as part of the notification.

3.0 out of 5 stars Geofencing is STILL broken!
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2022

I’ve had these cameras for six months and geofencing has never worked reliably. At best the app would only update my location when I actually opened it (instead of doing it automatically in the background as it’s supposed to). But for the last few months it’s not even doing that, so geofencing is basically useless. This means I get camera alerts all the time instead of only when I’m away from home - or I never get them at all. I’ve asked Eufy support about this a few times and they are always responsive and apologetic, and I’ve tried their suggestions, but nothing helps and they told me it’s a known problem. It seems to me they are devoting most of their engineering resources to supporting new camera models, rather than making the app work as intended.

I have 2 issues with this camera.
1. The auto-night vision isn't good. Twice, it turns on the red lights for night vision but because it's behind a window it just creates a huge glare and cant see through the window. After manually disabling, it looks great.
2. I'm able to watch it live through the app on my phone but when I try to view through browser it doesnt work at all and keeps erroring out.
The customer service is BAD. The website is buggy as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Avoid if planning to mount on tripod or gooseneck

For whatever reason, they decided to not add a 1/4 tripod mounting hole. The only option for mounting this with the mounting plate. The p24 is from the same series, so I thought this would have a 1/4 screw hole. In the question and answer section, the seller links a bunch of mounts that mount with 1/4 screws. I'm looking to use this on a gooseneck arm and prefer to have it screwed on instead of clamped. The base is also on the narrow side, so most jaws are too big for it. If you are looking to mount on a tripod, get the p24 instead.
I mainly got it for the cry detection. So far it seems to work. My baby making random noises doesn't try the cry. She has to really cry to trigger it. Also, if using to monitor babies, the ring of ir led at night may be a little scary for them.

If using with HomeKit (which is the reason I chose this), the video quality is downgraded to 1080p (as required by Apple). Apple HomeKit also deactivated smart recognition features (faces, animals, etc). While these are limitations by HomeKit, I think Eufy should be more transparent. As for the camera without HomeKit, it detects dust and light movement and activates camera. Very sensitive. The geolocation is still in BETA and doesn’t not really work smoothly. I was concerned that without a eufy or Apple plan, the stored video on my microSD card would only be viewable when connected to my home wifi, but not the case. I can see video stored locally from anywhere. Monthly/Yearly subscription not required.

Overall, I cannot recommend this product, despite the great reviews that it gets.
My initial reaction about this thing was wow! it's cheap and it works amazing. However, after three months of use (and this is true of the tilt 2K camera as well), this thing disconnects and the only way to reconnect it is to unplug it. If you search for this product on the internet, you will notice that there are a lot of folks that complain about disconnects. So much so that it is recommended that you plug this with a smart plug so that you can unplug and replug using the smart plug. As usual, the manufacturer blames your internet. However, I monitor my internet like a hawk. Manufacturer says that my internet is disconnecting which it is not, I guarantee it. The camera is even sending signals to my router, but it still loses connection with my phone. Anyhow, if you plan to install this in a tricky spot where unplugging is hard, either get a smart plug as well or don't buy this product at all.

I'll keep this short and sweet. I wrote a nice, long review about this product and Amazon decided it wasn't worthy because I mentioned another comparable product... even though this is exactly how I found this product to begin with.
Anyway, short version:
quality is good if you want to buy into the Eufy platform.
If you want this camera for HomeKit or RTSP, it's a hard pass for me.
What's not advertised is that when you enable either of these features, the camera reduces down to a horrible, low-quality 1080p resolution. Heavily compressed. Not at all like the crisp and color-accurate 2K image the Eufy app receives.
If Eufy provides a firmware update to allow you to use the 2K stream instead of the horrible 1080p for RTSP and/or HomeKit then this is worth every penny. Otherwise, look for something better. There are options... but I'm not allowed to talk about them. :-)

This DOES however have a cleaner view then my geeni 1080p camera and has better qualities, but this should have been built better. If it would of been built better it would be worth its price AND 5 stars. But because of the audio out issue, the alarm and my voice coming out of it being a failure this item is almost bottom from the geeni 1080p camera... I had hiigh hopes of this camera and loved all of its features the the best features i was happy about failed badly smh. Recall this item so its better for people please! 3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great. 24hr review.

Short story: Works great if you have your phone on you at all times. Indoor cams do not pair to Home Base. Monitoring from a computer is not an option without a paid subscription and website requires Flash which is going away.
**Update** returned it went with Arlo
After doing some very extensive research on self monitoring camera systems I landed on Eufy as they have competitive pricing and advertise a self monitoring, no contract, modular setup with local private storage. Well some of my initial questions simply couldn't be answered with reviews so I needed to see for myself. The main reason I wanted a camera system is so I can monitor my home situation from work. My needs are very specific as I am not able to access my phone and am not using a typical computer while at work.
First things first: I ordered a battery doorbell and homebase kit along with 2x Indoor Cam. From my research the doorbell requires the home base but the indoor cams say its not required but that left the assumption that it COULD be paired to the home base. After setting up the home base, I then set up the first indoor cam. To my surprise you cannot pair it with home base. It also prompts you for a storage option, again home base not an option. It asks if you want to use SD card(not included which I was aware of), cloud storage, or NAS. Selecting the cloud storage option directs you to a free trial/ paid subscription storage option. I had no idea this was an option and was a little annoyed that this wasn’t up front info. The NAS option is a neat feature and something I’ve been considering to keep everything in house.
After setup: I set up my home base, doorbell, and 2 indoor cams. One with an SD card and one with no storage option since I had to order another SD. I went to work and logged into the Eufy Security site and it pulled up all of my cams with a capture of the most recent event. As some people may know, Flash Player is going away. Guess what this website needs to run its live video? You guessed it. So I cannot view anything live on neither Chrome nor Internet Explorer. When I select the event tab, it says “it’s unavailable to play the clips stored in home base local storage by web portal because they have been advanced encrypted. It’s recommended you play them in the app or subscribe to the cloud recording service. This is very disappointing since my entire goal is to self monitor which is what I thought this system would enable. If I use the app on my phone everything works as advertised, but it simply is not an option for my needs. If there is not a quick solution to the web viewing option I may be forced to return this.

Used for a week then left the desert for the season. Checked periodically and no new events. After a month, checking weekly, the status changed to offline. I have another cam system that monitors a ring of cams around the bay house which has been online longer. It went offline once and it recovered when I reset that modem via the ISP control panel. It seems that Eufy Security uptime reliability may not be as good. Perhaps there is a cost to low price. My desert house neighbors are watching the home for me now, when they are home, anyway. I will update my review when I learn more. This will inform my plans for a system for our island home.

On a few occasions both recording and notifications have stopped, even though the live stream works. On other occasions I've lost all connectivity to the device even though other devices on my network are working. Also make sure you use an approved microSD card brand and size. Most of the time it works, but does it work well? Hard to say, depends on what you're expecting. Today, I had two people deliver food and groceries to my front door. I later checked to see if it was recorded since there was a discrepancy with my delivery. Nope, neither was recorded and yes I have the micro card. This happens more than it should, maybe 10% of the time where you'd think no one was here and this is during the daytime. When it does record, often times it's when the person is leaving so starts later than it should. I've unplugged/plugged it back in a couple of times, made sure it's updated, all that good stuff yet it's still so random. For the price it's a decent camera but I wouldn't rely on it to save my life.

So the camera seemed ok, app worked pretty well, and if you only plan on using the Eufy App then it will probably work fine, but I purchased this to use with the Blue Iris NVR software. It connected fine but the RTSP implementation of the camera is really bad.
-It only supports one stream, not a main and sub
-It limits the output to 1080 even thought the camera is 2k
-Worse of all the bit rate is set to 240 kbps max so the image quality is pretty much useless. For only about $10 more you can get camera that will spit out 2 RTSP streams at full stated resolution and bitrates over 8000 kbps if you want.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great picture, dodgy motion detection
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2021

Cons:
-The motion detection could use some tweaking. My cats like to go behind the blackout curtain covering the patio door to look out. When they come back out from behind it and push the curtain aside, the light in the room suddenly gets brighter for a few seconds, and the camera picks it up as detecting a person. I also get false alerts sometimes when they are just walking across the room on the floor. Thankfully, I was able to set up the Activity Zone where the camera watches, and this drastically cut down on them, but overall between these issues, I still get multiple false alerts daily.
-I've had to re-pair the camera with the app a few times in the short couple months I've had it. I would highly recommend writing down the camera code from the bottom of the camera, and putting it in a safe place, especially if you plan to mount these cameras somewhere with sticky tape or where you won't have easy access to look at the base, because you will need that code to re-pair the device when it randomly stops connecting. Don't take a picture of it and store it in the cloud, that is just bad security. Physically write it down and lock it in your fire safe.
-The Geo-Fencing doesn't work all that well for me, but that could potentially be due to my cell signal not picking up fast enough when I leave my house and leave the home wifi. Either way, it is effectively worthless for me as it would either not switch on fast enough for my liking, or it would just not switch on at all. I just switch between home and away mode manually instead, which works, but it frustrating considering the geo-fencing feature exists.
Pros:
-For the price, the picture quality is great, I have zero complaints there. Both the day and night vision have a clear crisp picture.
-I don't personally use it, but speaking through the camera from the app works well, the audio is clear and loud enough to hear well.
-It does what I need it to do, for the price I was willing to pay.

I bought this because it supports HomeKit Secure video, and that should mean I don’t have to worry as much about the security if the device. Not one hour online (HSV enabled ) I’m seeing the device use a DNS server in China instead of what I have set for my network. This means the device does not respect the settings provided by DHCP on your network. There is NO reason this camera needs to override my network settings. May block this on my firewall or just return it as I’m very skeptical about Eufy now
Edit: Blocking 114 DNS causes the device will fail back to Google and/or Cloudflare DNS but still does not use my internal DNS server. Customer service was very responsive and did reply to me and let me know my feedback had been "documented". I'm willing to hang on to this and evaluate future firmware updates for a fix.
Edit 2: after several months still not impressed. These randomly get disconnected from HomeKit and must be removed then re-added. Any automations must be recreated.

I bought based on reviews stating that it was a huge improvement over the Wyze V2 camera, but that was not my experience. The video quality appeared marginally better on faces and dealing with overexposure, but beyond that, it looked the same as the Wyze V2 but increased sharpness and dark lines around objects, and slightly cooler colors. There was also a lot more artifacting than on Wyze. That audio quality was a huge improvement, but I wouldn't consider that a very important feature. Connecting to the cameras through the Eufy Security app worked alright for one camera, but the second one was very finicky and eventually just stopped connected. Additionally, connecting to them through TinyCam was about 4-5 times slower than connecting to the Wyze camera. When I restarted my router to see if that would help things, neither Eufy camera would connect at all after that. These are pretty poor security devices if they can't reconnect after something like a network or power outage. Unless audio quality is a very important factor, I'd recommend sticking with Wyze V2 cameras as the best option for your money.

This could have been handled if this camera has back light compensation but unfortunately No BLC mode resulting in not usable image in some conditions.

I believe a package was stolen from my front porch two days ago, but there is NO FOOTAGE AVAILABLE over the past 2 days because I had turned off my wifi before heading out of town. While this would make sense if I record to the cloud, I do not. I use the SD card in the device. For the record, I have great internet service and the camera is not far from my router. Second, in the two months that I have owned this camera, 4-5 times in the middle of the night it has randomly turned on a white light for about 10-15 seconds, made a few clicking sounds, and then turned off. Since I use this as a baby camera this wakes my baby up which is incredibly frustrating, and honestly makes me worried about what’s going on with this camera. My 1080p Amcrest can pick out license plates from 30ft away, at "twice" resolution these are blurry and terrible sunlight and nighttime vision. Comparing these to other cheap cams like Wyze maybe these are okay, but very sad they suck compared to $99 Amcrest (which have half the resolution). Way better app than Amcrest, but everyone knows Amcrest app sucks, now I have learned that at least their cams are way better.

1. It’s missing is a threshold setting for when the night vision should kick on. When the camera is "right on the line", it keeps clicking on and off every few seconds. Most cameras have a setting that can be adjusted when it’s right on the threshold, but for some reason this one doesn’t.
2. When two people are trying to look at the camera at the same time, one person can view it but the other gets a "Camera not available" error in HomeKit. eufy needs to up the number of simultaneous streams the camera allows to at least 4 (I'm guessing its currently set at 1 or 2)
Hopefully a firmware update fixes the issues, but until then, hold off on buying this as a HomeKit camera.

Well, it seems to require to set the Eufy account first, then setup the camera in the Eufy security app, and then look for the "HomeKit integration" menu entry in the camera settings. Well, there is no such menu entry there! Also, the camera appears to be working and detecting people (with popup and live feed in the eufy Security app), but in the Eufy security app it is always "offline." Why?
1.0 out of 5 stars Sketchy traffic to China and other parts of the world. Multiple attack facets.

I bought this camera because it was inexpensive and supports Apple Homekit. The benefits are that it has a decent picture quality, night vision works but is a bit grainy and motion detection works up close (about 10 feet). The camera is fairly easy to setup through the Eufy app (attack surface 1) since you have to provide personal information to set up the app. I also have the Eufy Floodlight Camera. Viewing both camera streams is easy through the app, works over wifi just fine.
Now the concerning part. Since you cannot change the network settings on the camera itself you have to hope there is no data leakage, Eufy touts how secure and private these cameras are it even has onboard MicroSD storage so all recordings can "stay local". Within 15 minutes of setting up my cameras, my IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) started alerting me of DNS (Domain Name Services) requests, I looked at the logs, sure enough, around 200 requests for random DNS servers throughout the world were coming through on the IP addresses of the Eufy cameras, strange right? So I forced all DNS requests through my firewall, within an hour the cameras became "unavailable" to display video. Now I'm not the tin foil hat wearing paranoid type, the has to be an explanation.
Eufy's response: The eufy Security products also need a “phone book” to find servers on Internet. That’s why it needs DNS services, sends out DNS queries and gets responses from DNS servers. (wrong, DNS is set locally on your network router, typically to the DNS of your ISP)
One of the global public DNS service providers is Google (Red Flag). We use it for the majority of the world. We also use another public DNS service in China (210.5.56.146 for example), the one we’re talking about here. This is for China customers (if it's for Chinese customers, why is my camera here in the US pulling DNS requests from it?). As you may know some Google services are not accessible in some regions. We, as a manufacturer, do not know where a device will be activated or used. So multiple DNS services are needed to ensure the product can be used in different regions. Hope you understand that. (I understand Eufy need's to allow network control of their cameras)
Sending DNS queries doesn’t mean any security or privacy concern (WRONG, DNS tells who ever is listening what you search for on the internet and what sites you go to). The DNS traffic is only for server lookup. It doesn’t contain personal data (If that's true, why did my cameras cease to function when I forced out Eufy's DNS?). No matter the Google or the 114 DNS services, they both point to the same eufy Security servers.
The eufy Security servers are hosted on AWS in the US, Singapore and Germany.
Users’ data remains on the device local storage. The eufy Security devices encrypt and stream data directly to your phones.
If you have any questions, feel free to let us know. (No questions, I now know why your cameras are so cheap, I paid for you to view my data on your "security servers". Lesson learned
If you are OK with a Chinese company viewing your data, then this review was pointless. Good luck, stay safe.

Complete crap! Does not work with HomeKit. You’re forced to download an app that request your WiFi login information. Even then it never connected to the device via HomeKit! It makes you ask? Who did I just give my WiFi information too? Because it didn’t allow it connect to HomeKit!!
FYI, HomeKit devices work via Bluetooth; close proximity. A screen pops shows up on you iOS device. It it doesn’t, it’s not truly HomeKit supported!! (See 2nd Image) That’s how it should look. This product doesn’t show anything like that!

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't isolate from Eufy's servers

This camera supports HomeKit Secure Video but doesn't isolate from Eufy's servers. My whole purpose in purchasing this camera was to use the HomeKit Secure Video feature since Apple takes privacy seriously. I was disappointed to find that there's no way to disable the app (which operates by sending the video through servers in China) from being able to access the video. I would encourage Eufy to take the same approach that Logitech takes with their cameras and completely disable the app when switching to HomeKit Secure Video. Until then, I will be returning the camera and sticking with Logitech cameras. Even though Logitech's cameras are higher priced, the privacy is worth it to me.

Basically a POS. Privacy violations galore. Doesn’t bode well for your personal security.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does NOT support HomeKit natively
Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2020

I gave up trying to get this to work with HomeKit. There are actually two versions of this product: an older version with no HomeKit capability out of the box. This is the one I received. It doesn’t have a HomeKit setup code, instead you have to set it up in the Eufy app and update the camera, then add it to the HomeKit app through the eufy app itself. If you try to delete your camera from eufy it will stop working on HomeKit. So much for “secure video” - I want it going straight to HomeKit!
The newer versions supposedly have HomeKit codes so you can setup directly in HomeKit without the need for a eufy app. I did not receive one of those so I can’t speak to it.
I had so many issues with mine. The auto detect/alert features in HomeKit simply did not work, and the camera would shut off randomly and I’d have to open it in the eufy app to get it to work again.
This is a bad product with an appropriately cheap price tag. If HomeKit is your goal, pay more for a native HomeKit camera.

The product does not have a HOMEKIT pairing graphic code. Basically useless as there is no security or safety in setting up this product if it doesn't have the HomeKit pairing code to allow complete setup and control via Apple's Home App. Forces you to use the questionable and unwanted EUFY app. Strongly recommend if you care about your privacy, security or anything and are looking for an Apple HomeKit compatible camera that is fully configured via Apple's Home App -- look elsewhere. Aqara G2H Camera though a little more expensive worked for me (video, activity zones, audio, etc., all setup and configured via Apple Home app.). I returned 4 of these Eufy units for a full refund as not a single one had the HomeKit graphic pairing logo / code on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars DO NOT PURCHASE: Not the best security system with various flaws
Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2020
Verified Purchase
UPDATE (12/16/2020):
Have had the system for approximately three months. Also purchased indoor cameras a few weeks after first purchase. Problems still occurring but past time period to initiate refund. Contacted Eufy customer support on numerous occasions who suggested different settings and system upgrades but errors still occurring even with various adjustment settings. Customer support responds with the same excuse that their tech team is working on the issues. Thought that it could possibly be the 2C cameras that were defective and, in one email, offered to send replacements. Then, in another reply, offered to send a Pan/Tilt indoor camera as a replacement. It was a nice offer, but the issues are with the outdoor 2C cameras and not with the indoor cameras at all. In one reply, customer support offered a $25 refund for the unsolved issues. $25?! That was insulting.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM!
I cannot stress that enough. Poor system. Multiple false alarm issues. Dysfunctional Zone feature. Inconsistent notifications (sometimes it will capture a person, sometimes it won't). Faulty AI. Horrible customer support.
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SYSTEM!
---------------------------------------
THE GOOD:
Camera has decent image quality. Set up fairly simple.
Battery powered 2C camera will last a few months as long as AI does not filter out too many events.
Will record and store events locally (no subscription fees).
THE BAD:
AI will detect numerous false detections (ex: shadows detected as human faces). No matter how you adjust the sensitivity or activity zones the system will give frequent false alarms of shadows presenting as a human. Very distracting. Also, how would you pay attention to a REAL alert when you are constantly bombarded with false alarms. The eufy system cries wolf a lot. So much, that you become reluctant to have the siren on at all.
Activities Zones that are set up are useless. Basically, you get a set of colored rectangles on your app while eufy still detects outside of those zones (which also drains the battery). And the zones that are set up are inconsistent when detecting movement (same problem as other reviews). Sometimes you will get a notification and sometimes you won't. Adjusting the sensitivity level higher does not help with the inconsistent notifications. It does, however, help with catching more activity outside the established zone.
Indoor cams require a micro SD card to record events. Otherwise it is just a camera. Would be better if the indoor cam could link up with the Homebase2 and store recordings there. Would also be better if the Homebase2 had a micro SD storage slot instead.
Geofencing does not work at all for multiple users. Even with one person in the zone while one is out of the zone eufy will change the security system to "Away". Geofencing will also place a family member "out of the zone" even if that person hasn't left the zone all day. Geofencing is also inconsistent across different units. One indoor camera will report a different status than the home system (Homebase2). Have reported issue to eufy support. They have responded fairly quickly, however the system updates that were provided did not solve the problem. After reading the eufy forums, the Geofencing issue has been a problem for a long time and it has not been resolved.
After weighing the GOOD vs the BAD, the eufy system does not perform well as a home security system and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SYSTEM. It will not provide adequate security protection.

1.0 out of 5 stars Concerning Issues
Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2021

Let me preface this review with a few points. First, I generally love products made by Anker. Second, I'm pretty tech savvy and own my own smart home company. I received my first Eufy camera today. Setup was quick and easy, and quickly pulled up the video stream on their Android Euphy app. The hardware is clean looking and seems to be high quality. The app also has a clean professional design. However, as soon as the devive was set up and I saw footage within their app, the problems began. The first issue is that the camera's video will not load in their web portal, regardless of which browser or computer I login from. I was able to login, and it correctly identified I had a camera linked to the account, but I received an error message when pulling up the video stream. Second, I can suddenly no longer log in, either through the app or the web portal. I obtained a new password via the "lost password" option of the mobile app, but it isn't working. This could just be bad timing with Eufy experiencing temporary outages, but it's not a good first impression. When I called Eufy, they mentioned some backend issues.
I will update this review if the issues are resolved within 24 hours. If they aren't, I will leave this review intact as you see it, and you can then assume I was not able to resolve this problem, and the device is being return.

1.0 out of 5 stars Invasive Privacy/Data Policy

It's like buying a car and then as you drive off the lot, you're told you only get to use the dealer's gas station....
I don't really care how good of a camera you might be when you're this shady about your Terms of Service. This camera may be advertised as providing NAS/Local storage, but the only way to actually use the camera is to agree to their rather invasive Terms of of Service/Data/Privacy Policy which more or less lay out that they're DEFINITELY sending back telemetry data on your camera. And all the more shady is that you don't get any of this up front. I thought we had laws against that, but maybe I'm mistaken.
Suffice to say, a company that isn't upfront and makes you agree to additional terms AFTER you've made the purchase just to use it? Nowhere close to approaching cool. And yes, it's entirely possible to have a local configuration policy on a piece of hardware like this. Eufy just, doesn't.
Bye bye Eufy.

I've tried out several models of the EufyCam series and I've experienced the same problem each time. When the features work, they are great — but they don't always work. For example, onboard person detection with no subscription is a killer app at a ridiculous price, but if the camera decides to stop recording for random reasons until you power cycle it, then you are SOL from both a security and history perspective. I've experienced this with both the outdoor 2K camera and the indoor 2K camera. I'm extremely disappointed. Overall, the sound quality, app usability, and features are better than Wyze Cams (which have a similar price point), but the reliability of the product is quite suspect.
Secondly, each time I've emailed support, they tell me the same thing (reboot it or update firmware), neither solves the problem. Then, when it comes to warranty service, they want me to send back the broken one FIRST before sending me a replacement! WTH? It should be the other way around. Wyze support is much better!
1.0 out of 5 stars Sends data back to China! Keeps rebooting if you try to protect your network.

I bought this camera thinking that as a HomeKit secure video camera, my data would be safe and secure. I read a few reviews warning about the privacy issues, but figured Eufy must have fixed the shortcomings by now (December 2021). How wrong I was.
While the camera DOES have a HomeKit QR code - I needed to use the Eufy app to set it up before adding it to HomeKit (despite what the manual claimed). I tried multiple ways around that limitation but no dice. It’s far from ideal, but I figured It was a one time thing and I could just delete the camera from the app afterwards. Again, I was wrong.
While the camera *did* work for a little while, poor little guy started missing the mother ship in China and kept trying to phone home. So I blocked it from accessing the internet, which led the camera to return the favor by rebooting at random times.
Here are some key things to know:
1) If you delete the camera from the Eufy app after adding the cam to HomeKit, the camera will stop working
2) The camera IGNORES your DNS / DHCP settings and attempts to contact it’s own list of servers. If you block 3rd party DNS servers, the camera will reboot EVERY hour.
3) if you allow 3rd party DNS but block all other internet access, the app will reboot 3-4 times a day.
4). video quality is decent, but not great. Recording playback was choppy, but this is likely due to Apple’s flaky secure video product rather than any fault of the camera.
5) the camera does not have a weighted base - it would tip over quite frequently. Be prepared to use tape or screws to keep it in place.
While Eufy claims to be privacy conscious on the box and in its paperwork, their programming says otherwise.
If you care about privacy, want to protect your data, skip this camera. Saving a few bucks is NOT with the headache of dealing with the privacy and security concerns.

Eufy just had (05/17/2021) a major Network Security / Privacy Breach where users could see and control other user's cameras and recordings even if those recordings were stored locally on SD cards within the cameras and not on the cloud.
They let people into homes who were not welcome.
They also proved that your recordings are not secured to your account with proper encryption. Only the user's username and password combo should ever be able to decrypt your accounts information... Eufy just proved that they do not use such encryption.
If you do not believe me, use your favorite search engine to find "Eufy Privacy Breach May 2021" (without quotes).

Update: it’s time to get new security system. Already used: Wyze (very unreliable), Ring (doorbell disconnected issues), Nest (expensive monthly fee if you want 24/7 recording. Great interface (web) to cut video portion need. But, Nest security system not fully customizable with all devices. You can’t start video recording once sensor door open or motion detected by sensor. Had hopes for Eufy, but started working intermittently giving issues. Their new indoor cameras doesn’t connect to their HomeBase2 and bad thing that many scenes if/then can’t be done.
It used work great but after several firmware updates, when you watch Playback recorded video or saving to your phone after 3-4 minutes video starting crash like a puzzle and pixels. Then, you get message that unable to play video. Before update I was able to play and save any video even more than 30 minutes length. Also, combination of camera’s weight, plastic base shape and cable makes camera prone to fall and unstable.

Because they're trying to force me to leave a review with pop-up windows that cant be closed out, changing this from 5 stars to 1 star.
The picture is excellent (1080P). There's no additional charges, unless you want the cloud service. I'll probably get that because it's only $3 a month per camera. For the meantime, I'm still using the free trial for the cloud service. In lieu of the cloud service, you can use a MicroSD card (up to 128gb). I was able to get live streaming without anything at all.
Like many or most of the surveillance cameras available at Amazon right now, it does NOT support 5G. But I was able to get around that with my new internet. From the street, the ISP gave me two connections to the modem. One is 2.4 via copper wire and the other is 5G thru delicate fiber optic cable. I did an ethernet connection from the modem to the desktop which gives me 5G to that. In the modem settings, I turned off the 5G wifi (just the 5G wifi, not the 5G connection), leaving only the 2.4 wifi. So anything connecting by way of wifi automatically gets the 2.4. The camera worked immediately without any problems.

It's able to play the live video and it has an SD card inside..
Update: Anker/Eufy has good customer service as usual. They reached out to me about my concern and was able to push a firmware that fixed the issue. I haven't had a downtime day and camera has been consistent for the last 2 weeks. Although person detection could use some more work. It seems if something is in front of the target, the camera has trouble picking it up as a person. Detection zones are also a little unreliable at times. Overall, for the price, it is good picture quality, usable app and aftersale support.
It just stopped recording one day, no notice from the app. I checked my settings and the motion detection on, zones set, not on a schedule. It was recording continuous 24/7 to the SD card, however, when I checked it showed no motion even though it was obvious people are moving around back and forth. I had to restart it for it to start working again. But for a SECURITY system this is pretty outrageous.. It missed hours of motion before I finally noticed and started troubleshooting. I can't return the 2 cams now but I DO NOT recommend this for as your primary system, maybe back up or for package delivery viewing.

I have had these cameras for going on 4 months. The picture quality is acceptable. The recoding is serviceable.
But the app. Wow. The app was clearly developed and led by a marketing team and not someone who has even the most basic understanding of user experience.
Let me set you a scene. It's 6:00 AM. You just heard an alert from your phone. There's a notification that there is motion at the front door!
You touch the motion notification and what happens?
Well. This app adds some excitement because you might just get a video from yesterday from a different camera. Or, if it's really feeling good it will start to show the video and then crash. When you actually go to the app, too see the video that gave you an alert about your security, what do you see?
Is it the camera you want?
No.
Is it a list of recent alerts?
No.
Is it a pop up ad to buy more from Eufy?
You bet it is.
If you're thinking about buying these, I wouldn't unless Eufy/Anker figure out that when people pay hundreds of dollars for a product that they should have unimpeded basic access to that product's functions, my plan is to sell these and buy some dumb ip cameras that won't try to determine how i utilize them.
I want to love these. I want to want to keep them. But right now they are just a constantly beeping, disjointed captive- marketing pile of excrement.

I'm a huge Eufy/Anker fan. I was really excited to try out this 2k cam to replace an aging 1080 of another brand. Unfortunately, I've went through two of these and they both had the same issues. First, I wanted to use it with Blue Iris. It's not ONVIF compatible, but it does support RTSP streams. For whatever reason both of the cameras I tried wouldn't hold a connection. The camera was about 8 feet from my router so distance/obstacles were not the problem. Another odd thing was the RTSP stream would only work IF I didn't have a username/password set in the RTSP settings, so to work with BI the authentication was disabled, which is not secure at all. The Wi-Fi on the camera in general was also very poor. It took 7 tries for the firmware update to even start downloading. And then trying to use the app to view events or live feed, it wouldn't sustain a connection. The other major complaint I have is these cameras are only 15 FPS. There's no mention of that any where in the description. Trying to promote '2k' resolution(which I never got because the RTSP stream would only allow 1080 for some reason) and have such low FPS is odd to me. Then the actual video/picture quality was lacking. I'm not sure if this was due to it's poor WIFI performance or the actual camera itself, but the camera I was replacing it with looks way better. So I'm not sure if it's a firmware issue, or a hardware issue, but it appears to me there's several problems that should be looked at. As said, I'm a huge fan of Eufy/Anker and I'm surprised and dissapointed that these cameras are like this. Hopefully future generations will be much improved and perhaps I'll revisit Anker/Eufy cams again.
